The Beta's Mute Omega

Chapter 5

As soon as Alec opens the door, Jase is racing down the stairs.

When he sees me, he stops short and I can tell his eyes are watering. He walks slowly towards me.

"Oh, baby. What did he do to you?"

I try to open my mouth and speak but nothing comes out.

I watch as Jase picks me up and brings me upstairs to his room. He sets me on the bed and starts packing. For a minute I forget about what Alec did and start "talking". When Jase takes a glance over again, he sees tears streaming down my face as silent sobs rock my body.

"Baby, please don't cry. I hate it when you cry."

I mime writing as to ask for something to write with. As he goes to get a notepad, I can't help but cry harder.

When he walks back over to me with a notepad, I quickly take it from him and write down 'I can't help it, not when the one person who was supposed to protect me hurts me like this.'

As Jase read what I wrote, I could see that he was getting upset.

"Baby, I promise you that by tomorrow we will be out of this terrible pack and back to my pack. Okay?"

I nod in response and write 'Okay, but how are we gonna do that?'

"Don't worry about that. I will get us out of here and away from you brother. I swear I will. Now I want you to sleep, okay?"

I nod and get comfortable on his bed. I can see that he is about to leave when I grab his hand. He turns back to me and I pat the bed to signal that I want him to lay with me. He chuckles and climbs in with me. I lay my head on his chest and sigh. Before I know it, darkness pulls me under.
