I looked at the clock. Crap, Amber was coming in less than 10 minutes. My phone buzzed, "OMW Katie, better be ready". I scrambled through my drawers looking for my super man t-shirt and put on some nike shorts. I brushed my hair out with my fingers putting it up in a cute but messy bun. With a little foundation and mascara I went downstairs to make some popcorn. My phone rang and I answered it without looking. "Hello?" I said while pressing the popcorn button on my microwave. "Hey baby! Just finished soccer practice, we won 5-2" I smiled at the sound of his voice. "That's great babe! Undefeated 4 games in a row, damn." He laughed and I blushed. His laugh is the most precious sound I've ever heard. It's manly but soft. "Well I'm about to go to subway with my team so I'll text you later, I love you." "Love you too, babe, have fun."
I hung up as soon as the microwave went off and poured the popcorn out into a big bowl. I heard the front door open and Amber's voice echoed through the house. "Hello?"
"In the kitchen!" Amber has been one of my best friend for about three years now. She comes over so much she doesn't even knock anymore. She's been such an amazing friend to me. We never argue or lie to each other. It's like we're sisters. Although we look nothing alike. I have long straight brown hair and brown eyes. Out of all our friends I am the shortest by a lot. Amber is mixed. She has short curly hair and has the most beautiful skin tone. She's tall but not too tall. All the boys fall for her, but she is so picky with guys.
Me? I don't have an interest in any guy except Jake. Jake and I have been dating for about 4 months now. We met online. Don't worry he's not catfishing me, I FaceTime him every night and I have friends who have met him. He lives in New Jersey. And I used to live there 4 years ago. I moved to Texas because of my mom's job and I'm glad I did. I hated New Jersey with its rude people and loud traffic. The only reason I'd move back is because of Jake. With his cute golden blonde hair and his ocean blue eyes that you could see from miles away. His body is strong, not gonna lie, his ass was bigger than mine, and every girl loves him. We text 24/7 and FaceTime every night until dawn. I guess you could say we're still in that puppy love phase. I just wish I could see him and kiss him and be with him. But he doesn't have the money to come see me, and my parents don't even know about us because my parents are very strict.
My mom has figured out every lie I've ever told. I wouldn't say I'm a bad liar, I mean I lie to my friends sometimes and they don't notice. My mom and I don't have a strong connection at all. I get home and go straight to my room. The only time we talk is during dinner. Typical "how was school conversations".
Amber and I went up to my room to watch the new episode of pretty little liars. It's our favorite show. Well isn't it every teenage girl's favorite show? "What're you doing for spring break?" I asked her during commercials. "Ugh my parents are making me go on a camping trip literally for the whole week. Can you imagine!? All week stuck in an RV with my annoying bratty little sisters and my asshole of a stepdad?" I laughed. Amber's family is confusing. Her mom had her with this guy that I think is in jail or something. She then married a guy and had 2 little girls. Amber does not like him at all. He smokes a lot and he's so strict.
"I really wanna go see Jake for spring break but there's no way my mom would let me go alone." I have a lot of ideas, like my mom could go with me, or I could stay with my grandma who lives 15 minutes from him. I just don't know how to talk to my mom about it because I know she'd want to talk to his mom and it would be so much stress.
"Just talk to her. It's not that hard. Just tell her how you really like him and you won't do anything stupid." I thought about it all night long. Spring break was in 2 weeks and if I wanted to go I'd have to buy my tickets now or else they'd be too expensive.
