I woke up next morning with Amber gone. She always leaves before I wake up I don't know why. I guess her mom wants her home early.

I checked my phone and found a message from Jake. He always sends me good morning texts and they're so cute. I've saved all of them in my notes because I want to remember them.

"Good morning my love, I'm sorry I couldn't text you last night, Amber slept over and I fell asleep while watching tv." He always takes a while to respond and that pisses me off. But I don't complain. 2 minutes later he replied "it's okay baby I understand. I have 2 games today and Mike and Joey are coming over after" ugh I hate Jakes friends. I know that's rude and all but whenever they hang out Jake doesn't talk to me at all. So basically every weekend is friend and soccer time. Not Jake and Katie time.

I went downstairs and found my mom making pancakes with my little sister Sofia. There were some already made on the table so I got the syrup and butter and sat down. "Good morning sweetie, did Amber leave?" "Yes mom." I don't know why but my mom's presence puts me in such s bad mood. "I don't like her. I don't like how she never says hi to me or asks how I'm doing and stuff" I rolled my eyes. "Don't give me attitude young lady you better find new friends soon or we will have some issues." I nodded and took a bite of my pancake. She started walking away and I called after her without thinking. She turned around and I decided it was time. "Can you sit down?" I asked and she slowly sat down looking at me with uncertainty. "Um... So do we have any plans for spring break?" I asked with a shaky voice. "No I don't think so. What did you have in mind?" I started shaking my leg and looked down at my food. "Well I was thinking maybe I could go up to New Jersey and stay with grandma, or you could come with me" she looked at me with a smirk on her face. "Does this have something to do with Jake?" I nodded silently. "I'll think about it." She got up and walked to her room.

After finishing my pancakes and cleaning the kitchen, I went to my room to clean it. The bad part about having friends sleep over is the mess they leave. Popcorn on the rugs, soda cans knocked over, and pillows on the floor. It took me about an hour to clean it all and afterwards I laid in my bed exhausted. I realized that if I didn't figure out a plan for my trip I wasn't going. My mom is so busy with her work she forgets every little thing I tell her. I got out my MacBook Air and a pen and paper and started researching. I searched for flights through JetBlue and found the cheapest one. I made a list of friends I wanted to see while I was there. I've lost touch with most of them only two real friends that I've had since second grade. I texted them and asked what they were doing for that week. A few minutes later they replied nothing and I was glad. I would text Jake and tell him the big news but I knew he wouldn't respond till tomorrow or Monday.

"Knock, knock, coming in!" My mom stepped in the room. "Wow it's actually clean in here for once... What do you want?" She said with a laugh. "I've been doing some research, and I found a cheap flight and Marisa and Cam said they have no plans for spring break. All I have to do is talk to Jake and grandma and then I can go. Right?" She sat on my bed looking at the flight information. "Well it all seems fine, and I'm sure grandma will love to see you. But I doubt you'll be spending much time with her." "No I could fit a day or two with her!" I said with a fake smile to try to make her say yes. "Okay... Well I'll call her tonight." She said as she stood up. "Promise?" She nodded and closed the door behind her.

That night we were both on the phone with my grandma and she was thrilled about my visit. After the phone call my mom asked me for Jake's mom's number. "Why do you want her number?" I asked frightened. I didn't have it and I knew Jake was going to freak out if our moms talked. "I want to make sure the plans work with her plans and you're not intruding." I sighed and told her I'd get it on Monday.

The rest of the weekend was boring and relaxing. I had 2 tests to study for and episodes to watch Sunday night.
