The Library

Chapter 2- 'Sienna Lancaster'

*ONE WEEK AFTER SEARCHING FOR THEIR NAMES*

"This is pointless." I say while slumping against the nearest bookshelf. Folders and papers cover my lap, not a single one with my name on it. "Sienna. What's wrong?" Sage asks while looking slightly concerned. "Everything, this library, these papers, life if it's even that...."

Sage sets down the papers he was looking through to come sit by me. "Sienna you can't give up now, not we only just begun. Your name is on one of these papers somewhere in this library. We'll find it, I promise you."

"But that's the thing," I say while throwing my hands up. "You can't promise me that. Nothing is for sure in this library!" I yell, my voice echoing of the library's walls.

"Shh." A voice a shelf over shushes. "It's not even a real library!"

"Sienna...." Sage says while messing with more papers.

"Sage we've been looking all week, and have come up with nothing. What's the point?" I slump my head against the shelves again, feeling sorry for myself. And for sage too, he doesn't deserve this. No one does.

"Sienna...."

"What Sage!" I yell.

"I've found your name." He pulls out a slightly crumpled piece of paper out of a folder that clear as day says 'Sienna Lancaster' on it.

"Oh my God Sage...." He offers me the paper which I gently take from his hands. I glance at what's written on it but don't soak in the words. I don't want to know what they say, or at least not yet. Not until Sage finds his.

So I take the paper and carefully fold it up, sticking it in my back pocket. "What are you doing?" Sage asks. I shrug my shoulders and stand up. "I don't want to know what it says, not until you have yours."

"Sienna you don't have to do that...."

"But I do," I say. "We're in this together Sage. There is no 'I' in escape is there?"

"There isn't a 'we' either..."

"Oh shut up." I say while laughing. He chuckles back and we both stare at the papers covering the ground.

"So, lets' go find yours then?"

He nods.
