a month later, luke has been seeing rose on all magazine covers. after warning her every day that that was the worst mistake of her life, he finally gave up. he promised himself that he would never talk to her again. what she did was unfaithful, no matter what. sure they weren't together anymore, sure he had said awful things to her - but when it comes to things like this, the fame and fortune shouldn't be played with.
luke was more than sure that what rose did was a hundred percent to capture his attention. she loved the feeling of when he texted her every day, reminding her that it would end up hurting her in the end. she loved it so much she couldn't stop. she gained thousands of followers every day, was requested for interviews almost every week... it was never ending. as much as she secretly hated the fame, she loved his attention. she missed his care for her, she missed his text messages, and that was the only way for her to receive such attention from him.
and to be honest, luke has gained a great amount of hatred towards rose. she ignored his dumb text messages, calls, emails and anything of that sort. he was deeply irritated by that, knowing she did it all to piss him off. he didn't think he would forgive her for all that but in the end, she would get what she deserved. it would all bite her in the ass in the end.
"luke... i know what rose did was awful, but someday youre going to hate yourself for being so rude to her. you know what those text messages read, and if i were her i would've ignored them too. what she did was fucking stupid, but what you did was even worse. and the worst part of it all is that she still doesn't know." ashton reminded luke. ashton knew what he said was a little too mean, but it was the truth.
"how could she now know when all she fucking talks about is our relationship? look at how many followers she has, ashton - eight hundred motherfucking thousand followers. and its growing every day. shes indirectly victimizing herself throughout every single interview she's done!" luke yells, running his hand through his hair in frustration.
"that's because she isn't the bad guy in the relationship," ashton said quietly, reminding luke. as annoying as he sounds, it was completely true. she wasn't the bad guy in the relationship - in fact, she treated luke amazingly. he just had to ruin that, but luke would never admit it.
"she kinda is," luke mumbled.
"kinda?" ashton laughed, "are you hearing yourself? you cheated on her... and then never told her. you messed with her heart luke, and that's fucked up. you're my best friend, but what you did was stupid. poor girl doesn't even know why you broke her heart!"
"okay, okay!" luke shrieked. "i know what i did was wrong, jeez!"
"fucking good," his best friend huffed. "if you don't tell her what happened by next month, i'm doing it myself. she deserves to know the truth... she treated you so well."
"i know," luke sighed. "i wish i could take everything back."
