Chapter 8
Adam Guashe

I was thrown back by a force known as, Abigail Silver.

"She's too strong Nurse Mayo. I can't do anything!" I yelled over the many voices, whispering everywhere.

"You should let the darkness consume you Abby." A nasty voice whispered. "Yes Abby, join us, get stronger. Evolve." Another whispered. "Give into the darkness Abby!" One yelled. "Yes. I must become stronger." I heard her say slowly, her voice glazed over, as if she were in a trance. "I will join you. I will let the darkness consume me." She said slowly again.

I tried to bang against the darkness, screaming. "Don't listen to them Abby! You can't become their puppet!" The whispers stopped suddenly, and the darkness faded, leaving Abby on the bed. Totally still. I ran over, and put her head in my hands. "You didn't listen to them! You didn't give in!" I yelled, sighing in relief. Her eyes flicked open, and she smiled, showing her long canine teeth.

My smile turned to horror. Her eyes were yellow. "Not quite." She said quietly, before flipping out of my grasp and onto my bed, before finally running away, leaving black mist behind her.

So many voices. "Stop it." I said, twisting my body around, several times, trying to find them. Whispering in your head. "Shut up." No. "Yes!" We own you! Put your hood up and don't talk unless you are told to. "I apologize. I am yours." I kept turning around and around, until I bumped into someone.

I put my hood up quickly.

"Excuse you! I better get an apology this time gothie." A girl said in pure disgust. I looked up, my eyes hidden because of the hood. The whispers suddenly stopped. It was the girl with the purple hair again. "I don't owe you anything," I started. She scoffed. "Lady Xima Toshanto." The whispers low voice stated, coming from my own mouth.

She looked at me aghast, her mouth opened just barely. "The girl who runs from her parents, yet still demands for respect. The national hip hop star turned bad. The girl who will burn if everything goes according to plan." His low voice finished. I looked up from behind the hood, my eyes meeting hers.

I smiled, my strangely long canine teeth showing, almost yearning for her thick blood to stream down my throat. She screamed, making my ears ring and started to run. Slowly.

Hmm.

We love our meals hot.

So much running, her heart is racing so, I hear it beating rapidly in my head, going faster and faster. I see her figure near the pond, she's breathing so heavily that I can almost smell the sweat on top of her dainty nose.

I smiled, my fangs protruding through my cherry lips.

I laughed and ran, not even feeling the slightest bit fatigued.

I strained my neck, hearing a crack from behind me. It was someone with more muscle, a larger body with much more blood.

I swiftly turned around a tree, finding Adam staring straight at me, just inches away from my pale face, his hands twitching. I felt his heartbeat reverberate through my body as I sighed with contempt. He raised his arm up, holding a white jewel between his fingers, an estranged look of calmness on his face. Beams of red washed over me and I suddenly felt weak, my chest burned and I screamed, falling to my knees. I watched in terror as a black whispy hand shot from my mouth, clawing its way from my throat until I saw almost all of it floating above me. It stared into my eyes before smiling and fading into the strange jewel in Adams hand.

Hastily, he closed the lid on it, and that's all I saw before closing my eyes, my muscles failing, and hitting the cold ground.

I watched, strangely calm, as the black figure faded into the white Crystal. It wrapped around it, making the necklace turn completely black. I closed the lid, trapping it in its prison. I watched as Abby's eyes closed and she hit the ground with a large clatter, shaking the ground slightly. "Woah..." I said breathlessly, she was more powerful than I thought.
