It was a split second decision. I've always wanted to do it... I'm eighteen now, recently graduated, and I'm aching to get out. Go there.
It was easy to decide what I was going to do.

My fingers curl tightly around the steering wheel, and I run my free hand through my hair. I'm a nervous wreck.
What if he doesn't recognize me? What if he doesn't want to see me? I mean... Skype and phone calls, those can be ended, and he can go on with his day...
My mind is racing with all of these thoughts, and I can't focus- I won't focus, on them. Pointless worries.
Whatever happens, happens.
I glance at the passenger seat, where a small container of milk chocolates and a half dozen red roses are waiting. I remember buying them this morning; my hands were shaking so bad that I nearly spilled change everywhere. I bite my lip, then look down at my phone, resting face up on my thigh. According to the Google Maps app, I'm 5 minutes from the campus.
Suddenly thinking about my wardrobe, I remember what he said, when I asked about what he would've wanted me to wear, in the perfect situation.
"Agh, I don't know! Something... Casual, I guess?"
Do I look like I'm wearing something casual?
"You have arrived at your destination." My phone says, startling me. I yelp, and then hit my hand against the steering wheel in frustration.
"Dammit! C'mon, Levi! Calm down, you bloody idiot!" I growl, as my nerves are overcome by annoyance. I pull into a lot, and park my car across from a small light blue Pontiac. The nervous feeling comes back as I look up at the school, ducking so I can see it behind my windshield.
It's not terrifyingly huge... I think, as I observe it. Sighing, I scoop up my phone, the chocolates, and the roses, and slide my keys into my pocket.
"Well... I guess it's now or never, eh Levi?" I mutter, and immediately cringe, because I actually was just talking to myself. "I'm such a bloody dork..." I mutter, causing myself to cringe (again), as I weave between the cars parked in the parking lot.
As I make my way up the sidewalk, and my mind wanders, I suddenly have a thought that stops me dead in my tracks. What am I even going to say?!
"Ugh! Why didn't I think of that before?!" I groan, hitting my palm against my forehead. Cursing myself, I finally step inside the high school.
"Uh... Hi? I was hoping you could tell me where I could find a student, Ka-... Milessa O'Brien? Sophomore class..." I quickly ask the woman, who looks quite grumpy, behind a desk that has a sign saying "ALL VISITORS MUST CHECK IN".
"Reason." She states, with a bored tone.
I tense slightly, as the question catches me off guard. Just tell her the truth. "I, uh... I'm the boyfriend. Wanted to surprise hi-... Her." I stumble over the pronouns. Who can blame me? It's hard for me to use the female pronouns, when they don't actually apply to either of us.
The lady stares at me, gives me a VERY slow once over, and I fight the urge to shrink away.
"Name."
"Hm?"
"Your. Name."
"Oh." I feel my face get flustered, and I quickly answer, "Levi Sebastian Lanchester."
"Well, MS. Lanchester," she puts emphasis on the 'Miss', "do you have a photo ID?"
I inwardly wince at the blunt, but expected, dismissal of my masculinity. Either way, I pull my wallet out of my pocket, and slide out my driver's license (thank GOD that my friend Liam made me a license with my male name).
