"Why'd she run off like that? She never has before?" her father asked himself. He knew her mom was on the case. She was a spy. That very moment she was out looking for their daughter. She found tracks from Wynette's boots, a scrap of paper with writing on it in her daughter's room before she left to start the search, a strand of pink hair caught in a thistle bush. She knew exactly where that girl of hers was heading. She followed her daughter to the abandoned tree fort in the woods and there she found her on her old swing crying.
"What's wrong?" her mother asked.
"You're sending me to prison," Wynette replied.
"Oh no we are not, where did you get that idea?" her mom demanded to know.
"What dad said," Wynette replied.
"All a misunderstanding," her mom replied, "he was talking about his father not you dear."
They leave it at that and return to their house and a concerned father who is glad to hear his baby girl come back through that door with her mother. Now if only Wynette could figure out why she was so badly mistaken about her father's motives. It turns out, she was wrong and she's not going to jail. She sure is relieved about that.
