"Um... you okay?"
Peter asked, prompting MJ to lift her head from his shoulder, realizing they had somehow made it back to the fire escape leading to her room. And the mere touch of his breath on her lips was enough to make her realize she was still clinging to him, causing her to quickly put her feet back on the ground and let out a nervous laugh.
"Uh.. Whoo! Yeah..." she exclaimed, smoothing her disheveled hair, "Yeah, I'm okay. Let's just... Never... never doing that again, I'm never doing that again."
She said, shaking her head from side to side, making it clear she meant it, which—judging by the fact that she had spent the entire ride screaming and clinging to Peter with the extraordinary strength of a koala—he figured.
Nevertheless, for Peter, the fact that she had been the one to ask him to swing through the city was worth more than anything. He was truly afraid that when he revealed to MJ that he was the Spider-Man from the videos that had started circulating online weeks earlier, she would lose her mind, or worse: break up with him.
But his sister was right: no more lies or secrets. He shouldn't follow his parents' example.
They all knew how that had turned out.
"Code Brown, Peter. I repeat: Code Brown."
Peter's eyes widened at F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s voice, which burst into the silence, making him back away in haste.
"Shit," he replied without wasting a second, "shit, I have to go."
MJ simply nodded, knowing exactly what Code Brown meant.
Meanwhile Peter stretched out his hand, shooting a web toward the balcony above them, gathering momentum to swing again as the nanoparticle helmet covered his head once more. However, the moment his feet left the ground, he realized what he had almost done, gripping the web even tighter, which pulled him back down in front of MJ, only this time, upside down.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to leave without saying goodbye."
He explained, uncovering his face to meet her eyes. The brunette chuckled and didn't hesitate to step closer to him, holding his head before leaning in and capturing her lips in a soft kiss.
"I'll be back for you at 8," Peter said as soon as they pull apart, "this time in a car."
"I can't wait."
Peter smiled, stealing a quick kiss before shooting another web, this time to the balcony below, soughting to get enough momentum to soar above the building in front of them before swinging to the next.
Why now? Why today, of all days? Was his sister's personal mission to ruin his Homecoming nights?
These were the questions that raced through his mind as he swung from building to building, trying to leave them behind and activate Flight Mode, which his father had integrated into the latest version of his suit, hoping to get home before it was too late.
How long did a twin birth from two of the most powerful beings in the universe lasted, anyways?
Guess he was about to find out.

"Is it over? Please tell me I didn't miss it."
Peter asked breathlessly after running through the long corridors of the rebuilt Avengers Compound toward the living room where J.A.R.V.I.S. had told him they were, only to find his Aunt Nat sitting with her arms crossed and her legs up on the dining room table. And the gazes of Wong and his Uncle Steve, who barely managed to open his mouth before the lights began to flicker, alerting the young man the moment they became extremely bright, making him frown, thinking they might explode at any moment before, in an instant, everything went back to normal.
