(Chloe's POV)
I woke up to a naked Beca cuddling into me. I smirked and sat up, causing her to wake up as well. "Fuck, Beale. It's too early to be awake, go back to bed!"
"Someone clearly has a hangover!" I laughed. "Come on, get your sexy ass up, it's nearly 11:30. Do you remember anything from last night? I can't remember anything passed the second Mind Eraser you had me drink."
"I can't remember anything passed the first!" Beca said as she sat up. "This is all your fault, Beale." She told me with a wink. I straddled Beca's lap, wrapped my arms around her neck and connected our lips, slowly grinding my hips into hers. Beca pulled me closer, and let her hands roam around my body. I ran my hand into her hair, and Beca let out a yelp. I stopped what I was doing and realized my hand was caught in her hair. "Shit, Chloe I thought you took off all of your jewelry before bed."
"I must have forgotten last night. Not like I was in the right mind set." I told her and gently pulled my hand free. I stared at my hand, noticing the beautiful diamond ring on my left ring finger. I've never seen this ring in my life. It was on the finger that would normally mean... "Oh... Oh my God... Beca. I think I got married last night! Who the fuck did I get married to?"
Beca looked at my hand and instead of freaking out with me, she started laughing. She placed her hand over her mouth to try and cover her giggles but I noticed a ring on her finger as well. "Becs... I think we got married last night."Beca's face dropped. She looked down at her hand and her breathing got faster. She got out of bed and began passing around the room. "What the fuck! We are supposed to just be friends! Friends! Nothing more!" Beca groaned. I felt a sharp pain in my chest and knew she meant what she was saying. "How the fuck did I let myself get married?" Her pacing was making me nauseous, or maybe that was just from the alcohol last night. "This wasn't supposed to happen. I am not supposed to be like my parents! I can't end up like my parents."
Beca stopped pacing in front of the TV stand and stared at some papers. She picked them up and brought them over to me. One was our marriage license, the other was a picture of us getting married. We both wore gorgeous white gowns, which I assumed were borrowed from the chapel, we had these huge smiles on our faces, my arms wrapped around her neck, hers around my waist. We looked genuinely happy... We looked like we were in love. I think that's the part that scared Beca most of all. The marriage license claimed that I had taken Beca's last name. I am officially Chloe Anne Mitchell. "I guess you can't call me Beale anymore, huh?" I laughed. "Chloe Mitchell, not bad. I kind of like it, if I do say so myself."
"Chloe, this isn't funny." Beca's tone was serious and I knew she wasn't enjoying this morning so far. My smile faded and Beca realized she hurt me. She was starting to notice my feelings for her, and I knew it was scaring her away. She shook her head and took a deep breath, then Beca began putting on clothes and brushed her teeth, she fixed the makeup she forgot to take off and put her hair in a bun. "I need to go for a walk. If you could look up how we can get an annulment that would be awesome." I didn't know what to say, so I just stared at her. "I'm sorry, Chlo, I just... I can't." Beca left the room without another word.
Annulment? She wanted to terminate our marriage?
We got married last night, clearly because we both wanted to, and now she just wants to get rid of it and act as if it never happened. I got up and put clothes on, tried to make myself look decent, and combed through my hair. I was about to go out and find Beca, when there was a knock at the door. I opened it to see Aubrey, Amy, and Stacie, who let themselves in. They all sat around the living room area, making themselves comfortable. "So how are you and the short stack doing? Where is she?" Fat Amy asked."Beca, uh, Beca needed to go for a walk." I looked at all of them and didn't know how to explain what happened. "We got married." I let out.
"Shit, Chloe, didn't know Beca would let you take her that far!" Stacie joked. "Congrats! Let me see that ring, Beale!"
I took a deep breath "Actually it's Mitchell, now."
"Why the FUCK wasn't I maid of honor? When did this happen?" Aubrey was pissed. "This is unbelievable, my best friend gets married and I don't even get an invite!"
"Aubrey, it was a drunken decision! We did it at the casino's wedding chapel, here in the hotel." I explained. "Neither of us remember any of it."
"You should still be at least a little happy. I mean you did get the girl you've been chasing after." Fat Amy told me.
I felt tears fill my eyes. "Beca wants an annulment."
The door opened and Beca walked in. "Hey Chlo, so I asked the chapel, they said we have 60 days to get an annul-" Beca stopped short when she saw our fellow Bella's on the couches. "Hey girls, what can I do ya for?"
"An annulment? Really Beca?" Aubrey scoffed.
"Chloe did you tell them!" Beca hissed. "What the fuck?"
"They found out about our friends with benefits relationship before we got married, I figured I would tell them this. I needed someone to talk to and you left!" I yelled. "You left, you ran away. Whenever there is any sort of conflict that doesn't meet Beca's standards, or any sort of thing that makes you uncomfortable, you run away! Maybe I need you right now, did you think of that?"
"Why would you need me?" Beca asked in a quiet voice. "No one has ever needed me." I grabbed Beca's hand and pulled her into the bedroom, closing the door for privacy. "Chloe, look I'm sorry. This is too much for me. I think we need to get an annulment and after that... after that I think we should just be friends. No benefits. Just friends."
"Beca... I can't... I can't just be friends with you." I told her. Beca pressed her lips together and looked at the floor. "But I can't not have you in my life. I need you Becs. I need you."
"Why?" Beca looked extremely confused by the idea of anyone needing her in their life. "What do I do for you that you can't live without? Sex? You can get that from anyone, I mean have you seen yourself? You're the most beautiful person I have ever seen. Sarcasm? Literally everyone makes sarcastic comments. You have plenty of friends, you're extremely popular. What do I do for you that you need to have?"
"I love you. I'm done trying to hide it, and there isn't any point in trying since I'm pretty sure you can tell." I spoke quickly, but Beca knew what I said. She stared at me with wide eyes, her stare was confused, harsh, and loving all at once. "I love you, Beca. I love you, and I think we got married because we both wanted to. I think we got married because you love me too."
Beca let tears slide down her cheeks. She was scared, and automatically my instincts told me to hold her. She just stood there, not knowing what to do. "What are you so scared of anyways?""I told you what happened with my parents." Beca whispered. "They loved each other, then they just stopped one day. I don't want to stop loving you Chloe. I don't want to end up having affairs and staying together because we feel like we have to. I want the passion, the electricity, and the lust that we have now, always. That's why I don't want to get married, because when that dies, I can just leave. No divorce, no commitments, just leave. Just leave and find a new. But with marriage, there are commitments, and kids, and all of those kinds of things. What if the love dies? What am I supposed to do then? Pretend like my parents?"
"Beca, we're not your parents!" I told her. "We can make it work, I promise. Please, just try. If in 60 days, you still love me, then we stay married. For the rest of our lives."
Beca nodded. She let herself fall into me, her arms wrapped around me, and I held her tightly. "I'm just... scared."
