THE ORACLE BACK AT THE CAMP STAYED IN HER ATTIC when Clarisse opened the door, looking around, before she began to step closer to the oracle. Her steps calculated, and also wary.
"I'm Clarisse," she began to speak, "daughter of Ares. I have been charged with a quest... and stand ready to receive my prophecy from the... Oracle."
Then she just stared at the Oracle, then she began to take small steps towards the Oracle.
"I'm Clarisse, daughter of--"
The Oracle arched her back, looking towards Clarisse instead of the floor. Clarisse instinctively pulled out her sword, sliding the Oracle's head off as it rolled on the floor.
She took a shaky breath before she began to leave, but a whisper stopped her. The Oracle's head was back onto its body, still arching her back, as she opened her mouth, and green mist began forming out.
It was the mist version of Clarisse, as she began to say, "You shall sail the iron ship with warriors of bone. You shall find what you seek and make it your own. But despair for your life... entombed within stone. And fail..." as the voice echoed away into the distance.
"Percy Jackson and Autumn Wheeler will play for deserting camp in our time of need," Tantalus spoke to the gathered Campers, an hour after they were attempted to be killed, "Clarisse!" He snapped Clarisse out of her thoughts.
"Hmm?" She hummed.
"You have full authority to deliver justice to these outlaws, if you encounter them on your quest. Now, since Ms. Lovelace, or should I say, Ms. Wheeler is dead to us, you must choose a replacement companion, or buddy, or quest mate, or.... she needs two of them, right?"
Meanwhile with Autumn and Percy, they managed to caught up with a cruise ship, using all of their strengths to climb up, it was like there was a party, song echoing through the crowd as the three walked amongst mortals, finding a room which was, well, out of order, as they sneaked in there.
"It's really cold in here." Tyson began, Autumn turned the tv off as she looked at Percy and Tyson, "Are you dry already?" Tyson asked.
"Here, take these." Percy spoke, handing some dry clothes to Tyson as he looked through the bag, "Looks like Hermes thought of everything," as he pulled out some objects given to him. Magic vitamins, Thermos of Winds, "No drachmas, though."
Then Tyson escaped off to the toilet to change, "Okay, so," Percy began to whisper, turning his full attention towards Autumn, "Why have you been lying to me this entire time?" He asked, his tone impatient.
"Are you seriously gonna continue with this?" Autumn asked, rubbing her eyes, half asleep from when she fell asleep a little on Tyson's shoulder on their way here, Gosh if Tyson wasn't so maternal.
"Yes I want to continue this argument with you, now tell me why," Percy spoke, glancing at the door, wary to not let Tyson know anything, "I thought of a way we could make this work, just between us."
"Guys, I can still hear you." Tyson spoke from the bathroom.
"That's okay dude." Percy called out before he looked back down at Autumn-slash-Erika.
"You already know there's something you're not supposed to know, which is bad enough." Autumn remarked, taking a brush as she began brushing her hair.
"Okay, so, don't tell me any more."
"Uh, what?"
"Don't tell me."
"That's your idea?"
"I trust there's a good reason to stop me from leaving camp, or going on the quest, or finding out that my girlfriend that I began dating pretty early has been hiding things from me, as if I'm nothing but something to use until the time runs out, I trusted you, Autumn," he paused, looking down at the girl, as if she was confused— did he seriously just call her his girlfriend?
Percy then spoke again, "well, mostly I trust you. I'm guessing this is something to do with your past, that I don't know, but if I did know, it'd make me act a certain way, or do something stupid, right? So, I'm good not to know. But, and.... and this is key; if you see me doing something that leans in a bad direction, you stop me with a codeword."
"Girlfriend.... we were dating? And a codeword?"
"Yeah, I was thinking "boon.""
"This stinks.." Tyson called out from the bathroom.
"Well, it's not your codeword." Percy shrugged.
"I mean something smells bad."
"You say "boon", I back off." Percy spoke again, looking down at Autumn, as she found a random brush and began brushing her hair.
"This is gonna be a problem." Autumn responded.
"It'll work."
"I hate that I can't tell you. And if I tell you, pretty soon, you're gonna hate it too, no matter what we try. And then, you're gonna hate me, and whatever we have—" she cut herself off abruptly, gesturing towards herself and Percy, "You'll probably hate it too."
"You know what I think? I think we've had a rough couple of days. We're stowaways on a cruise ship. I say we check out the pool, or the arcade, or the buffet." Percy suggested, he was gonna hold Autumn's face first, but already getting that stare from her, the stare that clearly expressed her desire to never be held on like he did, he just backed off, his arms falling to his sides as he finally acknowledged her hatred for physical touch, or affection.
"Monsters," The door opened abruptly as Tyson walked out, wearing fresh clothes, "I smell monsters on the ship."
"Monsters. Plural?" Percy asked, facing Tyson as his attention shifted to the cyclops.
Autumn just looked at the two boys, she looked at her palms— ever since she was claimed as Hecate's granddaughter— first demigod to have two gods in her bloodline, by the way, it was just... messing with her head.
She could've sworn she saw dead people at night, or she could've sworn something was up.
