The house no longer had the same cozy feel as it used too, it felt cold and empty as if the spark you and Luke once shared had gone out. You went to bed alone, woke up alone, had meals alone, it felt as if you were the only one living within the confines of your apartment. It was depressing.
It seemed as if Luke was slowly starting to distance himself from you. On the rare occasions when you were awake when he got home, he would barely acknowledge your presence before grabbing a beer and heading into the basement to do whatever the hell he does at 1 in the bloody morning. You would eventually get tired of waiting for him to come up and go to bed, him joining you when you were fast asleep. He used to hold you when you slept. That was then, now there is always a fair amount of space between your bodies. The warmth and love you used to feel had evaporated, the air was now thick and heavy, filled with unexplainable tension and sadness.
He was always gone when you woke up. He used to leave little notes or at least a simple text when he had to leave early, now you just wake up to an empty bed and crumpled up duvet.
You'd thought about breaking up with him on several occasions but you never saw him long enough to actually talk about it. You know how busy he is and how tired he always is, but that doesn't explain his behaviour. Even when he was on tour with 14 hours in between the two of you, there was always some form of communication.
For the first time in what seemed like ages, you were excited for the day ahead of you. You woke up with a gleam in your eyes. Your brother was coming into town tonight and promised to stop by. You busied yourself preparing for his arrival. Luke didn't cross your mind once that day.

The boys decided to call it day much earlier than usual so Luke grudgingly made his way home to his girlfriend. Their relationship had been going downhill lately and although Luke would love to put the blame on his girlfriend, he knew it was partly his fault. He was the one distancing himself from her but he had a valid reason. He allowed himself to be talked into the idea that Y/N may be cheating on him and after some odd texts and unusual phone calls along with the usual rumors that were constantly flying around, he started to believe it. He was allowing their relationship to crumble before his eyes. He hadn't talked to her about the whole situation, he avoided the conversation, let alone simply talking to her as if it/she were the plague.
He was not expecting to find a pair of men's boots in front of the door when he got home. Nor was he expecting to hear his so called girlfriend giggle uncontrollably. He hadn't heard her laugh in months, it almost made him long for her, long for her touch and her gentle kiss but the fury of her being with another man under his roof outweighed that longing by a long shot. He was furious and he wasted no time marching over to their bedroom, his boots slamming against the floor with each step.
He made it to the bedroom door just in time to hear her say "I missed you so much! I cannot go for that long without seeing you, you have to come see me more often!"
"Or you could come visit me you lazy assh-" Luke couldn't stand it anymore, he couldn't stand hearing her talk to some guy about how much she missed him. He slammed the door open, startling both you and your friend. "If you have your filthy fucking hands on my girlfriend I suggest you retract them before I cut them off!" He screams, running into the room.
"What the fuck, Luke?" You scream, standing up off of the bed
"What the fuck? I should be asking you that!"
"What are you talking about? Maybe we should all just calm down and tal-"
"What's there to talk about, Y/N? You're cheating on me! In my own house of all places!"
