CHAPTER 3 : ANYTHING ELSE COULD'VE BEEN SLIPPERY. I THINK I'VE GOT CHILLS NOW.
*~*Debbie*~*
-----
I wake up to the sound of shouting downstairs, "Debbie, Debbie, Debbie." The little minions, as I call my younger siblings, are obviously hyper. I go into the bathroom to wash my face and I look into the mirror and tell myself I'm going to be okay. Not very convincing though but what can I do. Seeing that Matt's girlfriend will always be there to torment me.
I then put on a brave face and go down the stairs, my dad looks at me and says, "That's my little sleeping beauty." I look at him and say for the one hundredth time, "Dad, I am not little anymore."
My parents just chuckle. My mum then says, "OK 'big' sleeping beauty. There are some leftovers in the fridge that you can warm up and eat. You know you will need all the energy you can get for school today."
At the mention of the word 'school', I immediately lose my appetite. As if I'm not already heart throbbed enough by Matt's girlfriend, my mother just has to remind me about it.
My younger brother still smiling says, "I am going to try out for the basketball team today."
"Sure, you would be accepted once they start allowing baboons play ball," I reply.
My mum cautions me to be nice to my younger brother. Then they all start talking about school. I just tune them out and run off to warm the leftovers to try to get my appetite back. I eat a few spoons before my nervousness comes back and I can't eat anymore. I then go over to the parlour to sit, just hearing them talk but not listen. My Dad jolts me back to reality when he shouts my name.
"Debbie! Debbie!" I look at him. "Are you OK honey? You have barely spoken this morning."
I smile and lie, "Yeah Dad. I'm good, just excited about school."
My brother chimes in again and says, "I wonder why they let weird people like you in school."
"It would fit you better if you were sent to a mental institution," I reply again.
"And a zoo would be better for an animal like you," he says vaguely.
"OK, that's enough!" Mum cuts us off. "Whatever happened to you two!"
I go straight to my room, leaving everyone downstairs. I open up the window, sit on the sill and look out. I keep wondering if my old friends are missing me the way I miss them. So many questions fill my head as I close the windows, lay my bed, take a shower, wear a pair on comfy trousers and a blouse; and then take my backpack with me and head straight for school.

*~*Sarah*~*
-----
I'm in school, late for history class and I don't even have a pen. "Ugh Sarah, what's wrong with you," I whisper as I slowly open the door and it makes a slight sound.
Everybody stares at me. Mr Dennis, my history teacher who looks like he has bird poo on his face says, "You are late for my class Miss Chapette." He waits for a reply from me but I'm too nervous to speak. "Don't you have anything to say?" he continues. I take a deep breath and start explaining and then he dismisses me to my seat.
History class was hell especially because Daniel sat behind me. I had been avoiding him all day. I practically slept throughout the class.
After history class, it was lunch break. I walk to the cafeteria and place my order. I'm about to go sit near Gabe, when I see Daniel staring at me a few seats from Gabe. I carry my food to the corner where no one ever sits to eat my food.
