One Mistake

The party

Peridot's pov

The clock read 7:20, which means that I have 40 minutes to drive to Lapis' house. By reading the invitation, I estimated that it would take around 25 minutes to get there. I'd rather be early than late, so I might as well leave now. I grabbed my car keys, got in my car, and started it. 'I hope I look decent enough..' I thought to myself.
When I arrived at Lapis' house, I was 10 minutes early. Since I was early, I decided to pull up to her house and wait until it was 8. As soon as I turned my car off, Lapis came outside, walked up to my car, and knocked on my window. I rolled down my window to see what she wanted. "You can come inside now if you want to. My parents won't be home for a week, so it's just as at the moment. Everyone else should show up later." she said. "I'll go inside with you now. While we wait, can we talk?" I asked. "Of course. Let's go in now." Lapis replied as I opened my door and walked to her door with her.
The inside of her house looks really nice! The entire place is filled with modern furniture with the walls painted a light gray. In the living room, she had three big couches with a circle shaped wooden coffee table in the center. "I have all of the food and alcohol in the kitchen. Do you want a beer to start out with?" Lapis asked. I'm not too fond of alcohol.. but I guess one drink won't hurt. To signal I wanted one, I nodded my head and Lapis brought me to the kitchen with her. When we were inside the kitchen, she reached into to the fridge, grabbed me a beer, and said, "Save the bottle when you're done. I'm planning to do something with it later." "Um, okay, I'll save it." I replied curiously. Hmph, I wonder what she wants to do with it...

Lapis's pov

  Peridot opened her beer and sat down on the couch. 'I thought she wanted to talk, but she isn't saying anything..' "Peri, are you going to drink it at all?" I asked. "Y-yeah! Of course I am!" she replied in a slightly loud voice. As soon as she finished her sentence, she raised the bottle to her lips and finished it almost as soon as she started. 'Wow, she finished that awfully quick.' "Not to be rude or anything, but are you just going to stand there?" Peridot asked. 'Oh yeah, I'm still standing here looking at her like an idiot.' I walked over to the couch and sat next to her. Literally as soon as I sat down, someone knocked on my door three times. "Everyone else is here! COMING!!" I cheered as I rushed over to the door, greeting my guests. When I finished greeting them at the door, I let them inside.
I told Peridot that about 20 people were coming over, but a few less than that will actually be here. Everyone headed over to the couches and I remembered that none of them really know Peridot. When I noticed the situation, I started to introduce everyone to her. "Hey guys. As you know, I said I was going to bring someone new to the party, but I didn't say who it would be." I started. Peridot looked confused. 'Why is everything I think about relating to Peridot?' "Our new friend here is Peridot, but I call her Peri. This is Jasper, Ruby, Sapphire, Pearl, Garnet, Amethyst, Connie, Steven, Peedie, Sardonyx, Rose, Opal, Alexandrite, Sadie, and Lars." I pointed to everyone as I said their names so she would know who was a who. Alexandrite spoke up. "You can just call me Alex." she said as she reached out for Peridot's hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you all." Peri smiled. "Aren't you that girl that sits alone at lunch?" Pearl asked. "Yes, I am." Peridot replied. "Ahaha anyways, Peri drank the first beer so we can play our usual game. Jasper, explain the rules while I get the stuff." I interrupted. "Okay, Lapis. So the first rule is.." I heard Jasper say while I headed to the kitchen. This should be fun, because I have a magnetic bottle cap that I'm replacing with the original, and a paper clip.

Peridot's pov

The beer I had was pretty good, and I wondered why Lapis wanted me to save the bottle when I finished. Now I know the answer. "Okay, so the first rule is that the host of the party spins the bottle first. Rule number two, whomever the bottle lands on has to take a shot of vodka or rum, then kiss the person that spun it. Rule number three, the person that had to kiss the spinner, is now the new spinner. Final rule, you have to kiss whomever the bottle lands on, even if you don't want to. The kiss has to be on the lips, but it can be however long you want it to be. The least drunk person by the end of the game is the winner. Got it?" Jasper explained. "Yes, I got it." I replied. "Are you in or are you going to back out, nerd?" Amethyst asked. "I'm in, and thank you for calling me sweet and delicious." I shot back. "That was a good one! You're hilarious!" Steven laughed. When he laughed, everyone joined in. "I have to admit, that was pretty funny." Amethyst said when everyone finished laughing. "Why thank you." I said. "I got the vodka, rum, and shot glasses!!!" Lapis shouted. "Yeah!!!!" Everyone cheered as she set everything down and put my cap back on the beer bottle.
Lapis sat next to Garnet, who was on the couch across from me. "Since I'm the host, I go first." Lapis said as she put her hand in her jean short pocket, then spun the bottle. It landed on Lars, who blushed when he noticed. He took a shot of vodka, drank it no problem, and walked over to Lapis, quickly pecking her on the lips. "Aww, I wanted to see some action!" Peedie joked. "But I don't like her like that. Let's just get this over with.." Lars grumbled. Lars' spin landed on Sadie. "Now we're talking." Lars said through a grin. Sadie's face turned as red as a fire truck, metaphorically speaking, and she drank her shot of rum. Before Lars could get up, she rushed over to the tall thin boy with gages, and kissed him for roughly 10 seconds. "Ooooo" everyone simultaneously said.
   After about 10 more spins, the bottle landed on me. I looked up to see who spun it, and it was Pearl, the tall, pale, skinny one. 'This won't be so bad.' I mentally told myself as I took a shot of vodka. 'Wow, this is strong!' I thought, holding back a small cough. When I finished my shot, Pearl was literally pink. "Pearl's got a girl crush!" Connie joked. "I most certainly do not! Just kiss me already so I can get this over with.." Pearl replied. 'This is my first time kissing anyone, and it's going to be a girl.. I don't even know if I like girls, guys, both, or neither.' Pearl was sitting two people to the right of me, so I didn't have to walk far. We both awkwardly stood up and decided to kiss like that. Her lips gently pressed against mine, for a second, then we pulled away. "That wasn't bad at all, see?" I told Pearl. "Y-yeah, I see." she responded as we both sat down.
   Lapis now sat up and leaned towards the table, anxiously almost. With a quick flick of my wrist, I spun the bottle and it landed on Lapis. We both stared at each other for a moment, feeling some tension, then she took her shot and walked over to me. The blue haired girl sat on my lap and pulled my face towards her, both hands on the side of my face. Our kiss started out as gentle, then she started to add more aggression, making it passionate. Our lips were moving in sync, for now about 20 seconds straight. This kiss was amazing, and I could feel that she didn't want to stop, nor did I. My hands found their way to her waist, and I brought her closer to me by it. This caught her slightly by surprise, but she didn't stop. Her tongue now occasionally entered my mouth, as mine did hers. It felt as if we were the only two people in the world, and nothing else mattered. That sensation ended since humans were cursed with the need to breathe. We both pulled away from one another, taking a quick breath, keeping our faces only inches apart and  we looked into each other's eyes. Before she got off of my lap, she leaned in to kiss me again. This kiss wasn't as long as the other, rather, it was a quick peck on the lips ended by her lightly biting my bottom lip.
   Lapis walked back over to her spot silently, and everyone looked shocked. "Wow Lazuli, that was the first time I've ever see you do that." Jasper said. "You guys were kissing for a straight 2 minutes!" exclaimed Peedie. "Are you two like a thing?" Ruby asked happily. "No no no, it's not like that at all. She's just a really good kisser." Lapis gushed with her face instantly turning a deep shade of red. "Surrrree. Let's just keep playing." Connie sarcastically said. Lapis spun the bottle and it landed on herself, so she put her hand in her pocket and spun again. This time, it landed on Opal. Their kiss was quick, but I felt jealous. What has Lapis done to me?

I'm very sorry about taking a while to write this. I had three different ways I wanted to write this chapter and I decided to post this version, since I liked it the most. I hope you guys enjoyed what I decided to post!
