I was walking all alone and kicking my paws all through the tall dry grass. I heard a light giggle and jumped behind a tree. I peaked out and saw Frayer and Shindi together.
Together, Together.
I watched them hug and play around for a bit. "do you stalk your sister often or is this a new thing for you?" a voice startled me. Dragor walked over to me and watched the two. "How long has it been since you and her hunted together?" "a while..." "you see!" he snapped. I could tell he was pretty mad. "I told them not to get so close to you guys!" he grumbled. "okay...whats wrong with you pissy?" I asked. He glared at me. "We are the only ones who are sane alright......the others have already been infected
"Uh...I'm sane, but we may want to get you checked out, c'mon" I tried to lead him away, but he swatted at me and screamed no and ran off. "yes....you are sane..." I grumbled after him. I didn't particularly like him, but I enjoyed his company. I sighed and layed on a tree branch. Dragor was the only thing on my mind at that moment and I couldn't understand why.
"Aw, where is your friend?" A nice voice came from behind me. "Oh..uh...Shindi's with Frayer, Demitri's with one of the twins and Zuri's with the other one" I shrugged. The baboon just laughed and jumped closer to me. "no, I mean the tiger! You two spend most of the time together..why aren't you with him now?" I laughed at him. "Uh he kinda told me that he wasn't infected by god-knows-what and he ran off when I tried to help" I explained.
"Yes, yes.....Rafiki spoke with your friend about that, but my question was....why aren't you with him?" He asked and used that staff of his and pointed my face to the tall grass. "rafiki...there's no one the-" I was hit with his stick. "ow!" "go on!" he laughed.
I rolled my eyes and walked out to the grass. Like I had said before, it was totally vacant, no one around. I sighed thinking to myself how crazy that monkey was. I layed down in the grass and looked up at the stars. They were shining beautifully. I smiled to myself. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.
A nudge on my neck woke me up. I jolted awake and looked in every direction, but no one was there. "easy now, you've only been asleep for a little while" Rafiki smiled at me. I rolled my eyes and started back to pride rock. "wait! where are you going?!" the baboon shouted from behind me. "home.." "but you are far from home.." I looked up and I was in fact in a different place. "uh how'd I get here?" I asked.
No answer.
"Rafiki?" I asked turning around.
No one.
I began to look for the crazy-ass monkey. I had no idea where I was, so I looked for a place to sleep for the night, then head home in the morning. I had come across a giant field of short grass, but tall flowers. When I walked through, the plants towered over me. I heard a low growl from in front of me. I got down on my haunches and was ready to pounce.
Another growl.
My heart beat increased and I dug my claws out into the soft dirt pillowed below me.
Growl.
I was ready to pounce, but the thing pounced first. It took me from behind, digging its claws in my back. it tried to reach it, but couldn't. I let out helpless cries to no one. I wanted to see the animal killing me badly. I tried flipping around, but when I did, I was greeted with a smack to the face. I blindly shot my paws out and tried to hit it, but no luck.
Another growl stopped the attack and the weight holding me down was tackled from me. I layed there and shivered. The pain just now hit me and I saw blood across my fur. I let out a small whine. There was a bone chilling crack, and then something nudged under my chin.
"Sylvia...Sylvia wake up.." Dragor's voice was soft and full of worry. "c'mon get up" he instructed and shook my stomach. "please wake up" he pleaded. He moved himself in a position to both protect and comfort me. Considering I was now face down, he layed partly on my back with his head between my shoulder blades.
I groaned when I found my voice and that made him move. "Sylvia! Sylvia, you're alright?" he asked and helped me up. "yeah..I-I'm okay.." I shook my head. The thing that attacked me layed dead to my left. A hyena.
I looked at Dragor, he had a small scratch over his eye. "thanks.." I mumbled. "for?" "saving me." I flushed. He chuckled. "don't thank me, I kinda owe it to you...you know....for earlier" "yeah what was with that?"
He shuffled his paws a bit.
"you know how we got into the conversation about mates and cubs and all that jazz?" "yes" "well....I was thinking....and it seems like my guys are falling for your girls" he explained. I sat down and nodded. "With Demitri and Grandi, Zuri and Garko...Frayer and my sister..?" I asked. He nodded. "oh..is that so bad?" he thought about it and then shrugged. "I thought you said a mate slows you down" "well....on most occasions,but on some they can help and even boost you up"
"Oh well in that case" he said and licked my cheek, causing me to get startled and jump back. "what was that?!" I asked him. He smirked at me. "just a test...see how you would react" he shrugged....
