Headlines: Mysterious Business Tycoon Charms Ms Singh
Aditi's POV
I opened my room door and ruffled my hair. I was wearing my sweatshirt with shorts. My hair was suppose to be in a bun but hair was falling. I stretched and put on my slippers that were outside my room door. Yawning I walked down the stairs. The house was unusually quiet, especially for a Saturday. I looked at the clock on the wall by the door 9:45...where is everyone? I walked into the living room and found the adults sitting there in silence. Each one of them looked lost in thought. I shrugged and reached for the newspaper. I like to read the comics as I eat breakfast. However, as I was about to grab it my mother snatched it out of my hand
"Hey" I looked at her surprised
"You don't need to read the newspaper" She walked off
"And why not?" I followed her to the kitchen
"Cause you should know what is in it" She put the newspaper in her apron
"How would I know I am not psychic?" I tried to reach for it
"How about this?" Aunt Harleem walked into the kitchen, "Who were you with last night?"
"Hm..." Last night? Hm..., "No one special why?"
"No one special? Huh I'll say" She laughed herself and walked out
"What's with her?" I asked Aunt Harshdeep
"We are just a little surprised that you didn't tell us about the new boy in your life" She smiled
"New boy? Who?" What the heck?
"Don't act innocent Aditi" Mom sighed, "I even asked you last night. You didn't even tell me anything"
"There was nothing to say"
"Maybe it's nothing serious" Dad chimed in, "You know kids these days. They say it's nothing until the very end"
"Oh my god! What is it with you all? There is no new guy in my life" I sat down at the dining table
Ring Ring Ring. The door bell rang. I looked around and realized no one was responding. Sighing I stood up and walked over to open the door. There was a guy wearing a hoodie and dark glasses even though it wasn't cold or sunny outside. I looked at him confused. He smiled and took off his glasses.
"Good morning" He smiled
"Do I know you?" I asked not telling him enter
"Seriously? It's me Vicky"
"Vicky? Oh. Hey what's up?"I looked behind him to see all the reporters by the gates, "What the heck?" I moved behind him and motioned one of the guards over, "What's going on? Why are they here?"
"Maam, they are here for an interview"
"Interview?" I looked on puzzled
"I am guessing you haven't read the newspaper" Vicky quietly said from behind
"No. My family was acting weird" I turned to look at him
"Well allow me to explain" He walked off inside, "Seems like there was an incident last night and a lot of pictures were clicked in a way to make it look like we are seeing each other"
"What?" Oh yeah when he got drugged, "Can't you have your assistant take care of it?"
"What? Oh I didn't even think about that" He looked like he really hadn't thought of it
"You are weird" I rolled by eyes and walked on as he followed
"Well I came here to apologize to you and your family for the inconvenience"
