A T.V screen turns on in a hospital room.

White noise.

A nurse walks in.

She notices the T.V and hits it twice.

The T.V starts to work again.

"There ya go." the nurse smiles, "Do ya need anything?"

She asks the girl laying on the hospital bed.

The girl nods, handing over the remote.

"Okey-dokey. What channel, honey?"

"4. Channel Four." The girl croaks, her eyes never straining from the screen.

"Are you sure honey?"The nurse frowns.

"Yes. P-please."

"Oh...alright." The nurse hesitantly changes the channel to 4, the Seattle News Network. SNN.

"A car accident on route 7 involving two cars and a motorcycle. No word yet about how it happened especially since there's no ice this fine summer night. So far 5 dead and 2 injured. This is SNN with your nightly news." The reporter reports looking very solemn as he stands in front of the crash scene. The cars are practically intertwined with each other and there's a motorcycle on the side without a single dent.

The girl blinks watching the commercial for a Mcnuggget meal at Mcdonalds come on.

"Want me to turn it off?" The nurse asks.

"No...T-thank you. I would like some water, please."

"Okay, I'll be right back." The nurse says, as if the girl would disappear the second she left.

The girl watches her go, tears pooling in her eyes. The tears weren't because of her broken arm, dislocated collar bone, nor her raging concussion. The tears were there and they were meant to be there.
