The girl was royally pissed. The only relative who had wanted her to live with them had been her hippy-dippy aunt in New York, did anyone know how far away it was from Seattle, her hometown?! At least here she could start off differently. The plane ride had been horrific, especially since she had been stuck between a nursing mother and her pervert of a husband. It had been pure hell. The girl almost wished for the days when she hadn't been able to do anything and the nurse had been at her beck and call .
She checked her phone, she had managed to get a taxi, all she needed now was her baggage and she could finally leave this good for nothing airport.
"Darlene?!" A wiry man well boy called out. There was nothing extremely attractive about him, except for his eyes, even from a distance she could see his bright blue eyes. He walked in long strides and was at her side in seconds. "Darlene?"
"I guess." She shrugged her shoulders as her answer.
"Oh, cool. I'm Gabe." He smiled, and she noticed how white his teeth were, and how straight they looked. He must have had braces she concluded.
"Okay." She turned away from him, and walked towards the baggage claim.
"I could get your bags for you." He offered.
"No thanks, I can do things by myself." She wondered if her aunt had told Gabe about her family, if so she didn't need his pity or sympathy. She searched for her bright purple suitcase, which she thought would be easy to find but it hadn't been so far.
She kept looking for about five minutes when she got a text from the taxi driver. She turned and saw Gabe watching her, she smirked and said, "Actually, i could use your help."
He smiled, glad to be of service. "What color is your suitcase?"
"Yellow."
"Okay, why don't you go sit somewhere else and I'll look for it."
"Okay." The girl smiled a sly smile, as she picked a purple suitcase from the baggage claim. It was going to be a while before Gabe found them, she thought. By then she'd be gone.
