Down to the library again you travel after another stressful day full of disappointments. Settling down in a cushioned leather chair next to numerous shelfs of endless books. You burry your face behind another book so no one can see the emptiness behind your eyes as your mind wanders off. Your taken to another life where the gorgeous boy can't help but fall in love you, the quirky girl with this cute little giggle and a perfect life. This is the only way you can escape the troubles of each day and reality itself, even if it only lasts a moment as your eyes scan over each word and a image pops into your mind is enough to forget. Maybe if you screw your eyes really tight and desperately wish for the blue eyed angel in the book, he'll actually appear right in front of you. After all boys in books are always better. The antagonist lies and cheats but you know there's always going to be another boy, a perfect boy who's been waiting in the shadows for his opportunity to shine. Filling your mind with fictional fantasies dreaming for your own chance at a fairy tale. Every time you flip over the last page it feels like you've lost a bit of yourself within the book and left it behind on the shelf.
Because your head is stuck in these books you never really got to have your own adventure. You've only dreamt of it all as you read of the vast lands you've never seen and people you'll never meet. A beautiful magic love affair, all of which you've never actually experienced. You've only read about the way love feels but never have you ever actually felt the fireworks when you kissed or the butterflies flutter in the pit of stomach when he holds your hand. God do you long to be held, touched and kissed like the way she does. The tingles in her cheeks and the smile she just can't whip off her face. A bright smile shined across your lips as you daydream again of the live you've always imagined. Wishing could recklessly love like the girl your reading about, the girl you want to be jumping head first, head on without a care. To act and damn the consequences. Oh how you wish it could be that easy.
A sigh escapes your tightly pressed lips as your bangs refuse to stay tucked behind your ear, instead tickle your cheek, and cling to you in static strands. Leaning back into the cushions and bringing the book up only inches from your face.
Pouting your lips out as your eyes scan past every word. Its finally happening after a hundred or so pages, their in the rain on a bridge and she's screaming at him with tears streaming down her face about her love and how he broke her heart and then he's there kissing her passionately that she forgets about it all and... A dark flash castes a shadow over the pale pages in your book. Your eyes flick up to catch a blur as a a red blur spins, you view the back of a frame in a red plaid sweater, tight black jeans and a grey beanie slung over his head. A boy stands with his back to you as he peers up at a shelf. He's tall and well built, your eyes linger on his legs longer then expected and you quickly flutter your eyes as you snap back to the present. Your cheeks tingle with heat as you hope no one had noticed your obvious staring. He turns and you can't catch a glimpse of his face as he disappears like a figment of your overactive imagination behind another towering shelf. Then your eyes glance back to the shelf he had been looking at and the possibilities are endless. This place is full of every book you could ever imagine. Every plot, every word written of love and the scandalous affair. Only twenty four letters which writers have been mixed and matched to create beautiful works of art.
Your stomach growls slightly as a quenching pain gurgles within your stomach. Biting your lip as you decide of whether or not to walk to the little cafe across the library or stay here and continue to read the life you long to have. Your stomach has made the final division as it again roars under you shirt. Your knees are weak under your weight as you stand and stride towards the cafe leaving your book behind face down on the leather, determined to finish such a glorious love story.
Walking towards the little cafe you see the familiar little blonde behind the counter and the scattered people sitting with forgotten cold drinks in their hands as there faces are hidden behind books.
