Dear Diary,

Today is my 18th birthday. YAY!! I don't think today's going to be any different from any other day because I mean it's an orphanage not a party place. God I hate being here. But then I look on the bright side of things, if I had never been put here I would have never found my best friend. Well I call her my best friend but she's like a sister to me and I love it. Well I'm going to go find Lilian. Thank you for always being here for me. <3

Rose Taylor

My name is Rose Taylor, I'm 18 and I've been in the orphanage for 17 years. I don't remember my family but I'm sure they wanted me to be happy and I try. My best friends name is Lilian Prescott she's like my sister and I love her like one.

Rose's POV

"Hi rose" Lilian says as she walks into the room "happy birthday." She comes over to me and jumps on me and laughs.

"Hi and thanks" I smile because she's always so happy and because she's my very best friend, and there's no way you couldn't just not smiles when she comes into the room she just lights it up with her presents.

"What you doing?" she asks me.

"I just got done writing in my journal" I got the journal at therapy yesterday. I've been depressed ever since I was 5.

"I have a surprise for you" Lilian says while dragging me into the kitchen.

I stare at it and my eyes start to fill up with tears looking at the three layer cake the girls in the orphanage made. "You guys did this for me?" I say while almost crying.

"Yea and I know you told me not to get you anything for your birthday but" she hands me an envelope and I open it.

"Oh my god you didn't" I say well actually yell not trying to when I see what's inside of the envelope.

"Well it's your favorite band and I want you to be happy" Lilian says almost crying.

I leap into her arms and hug her so tightly I think I'm going to brake her so I let go "Thank you so much you're the most amazing friend anyone could ever have" I say as I'm crying my eyes out.

"So you like it?" Lilian asks smiling.

"Yes I love it thank you"

"Who wants cake?" Sky the owner of the orphanage says smiling as she walks over to the cake to cut it. As everyone yells that they want cake.

I smile and giggle because everyone is happy for once and it's awesome. We all line up with our plates to get our cake.

"So what are you going to wear to the concert?" Lilian asks.

"Maybe my 5sos shirt and ripped blank skinny jeans and blank cons., oh and my 5sos wrist bands and black nail polish."

"Wow you've got it all figured out don't you?" Lilian says with a smile on her face.

"Yea I've been dreaming of this day for years and it's finally here." I smile and it feels like my head is going to explode with confetti because I'm so happy.

"Are you coming to the concert with me?"

"Of course I am, I wouldn't miss it for the world" Lilian says with excitement.
