Flare POV
I feel weird. Out of place. My body feels cool again. I look at Nick and he is stands there leaning against the doorframe looking pleased.
"Wanna go for a fly baby?" I look down and see that I'm on fire. But oddly enough. It doesn't worry me. I try answering a yes but it comes out as a squawk. He walks past me and opens the patio doors for me. I feel myself pushed back before I'm in the air and flying out the doors.
I get outside and spin with my wings tucked into my body before fanning them out quickly.
"Your grandmothers coming." Nick says. I quickly land on the banister and look at him to continue.
"Logan found her. She said your mother was the last and that she thought you were dead." I ignore whatever he saying and get into the bedroom. I focus on becoming home and end up feeling normal again. I look down and see my clothes are scorched. I go and change in the wardrobe. A pair of skinny jeans and a shirt. Plus one of Nicks hoodies.
"Fia. My mums name was Fia. Italian for, a flickering flame." I say remembering what my mum told me.
"What?" Nick asks.
"My mothers name was Fia. It makes sense as to what it meant that now." I say. He nods and I feel really tired. I crawl onto the bed and fall asleep.

Nick POV
I hear a commotion downstairs and get up from my position on the bed next to Flare. I head downstairs and the words become clear.
"Where's my granddaughter?" I hear a women yell. I step into the living room and the pack is looking confused.
"Ms. Young." I greet.
"Mr. Locket. Where is she?" I motion for her to follow me and she does. I walk into my and Flares room and she gasps.
"She looks just like her." She says quietly. Flare stirs and her eyes open. She rolls onto her back and stretches.
"Flare." I say. She looks at me and then to her grandmother.
"Who's this?" She asks.
"Your grandmother." I say. She looks confused before running to the closet. She rummages through some stuff before coming back. Holding a piece of paper.
"No. You died." She says as she shows me the piece of paper.
"No I didn't. Your father tricked both of us. I thought you were dead and vice versa. He manipulated us both." Ms. Young explains.
"How come nobody told me about the whole Phoenix thing?" Flare says as she sits on the edge of the bed.
"Your mother wanted to protect you for as long as possible. None of us told you because of that factor. Your mother was going to tell you on your 14th birthday. But she died before that. We said it was because of cancer when it wasn't. She was flying and she crashed when she was shit down. It was the best we could come up with." She said.
"How? How could you and me and my father just vanish off the face of the planet?" Flare tries figuring out.
"I don't know love." She says and sits beside her. "You look exactly like her. Your hair. Your eyes. Your height. Size. Everything is just like her." Ms. Young says and pulls Flare into a hug.
Flare starts shaking and I can tell she's crying.
"Calm down. Your still unstable." Her grandmother says.
"What do you mean, 'unstable'?" Flare asks as she pulls away and wipes her eyes.
"Strong emotions. Especially anger trigger your Phoenix until you can control it." Ms. Young says. Flare nods and takes a deep breath. I sit next to her and she instantly hugs me. Breathing deeply. I rub circles into her back and she finally calms down.
