Chapter 2:
JOSH'S POV
I watched as she walked away. Although she was only going to go sit down, it felt like karma; id walked away from her a long time ago, and now it was coming back around.
Why was I so stupid back then? If I had the choice now, I'd definitely choose her over music. But that wasn't even the case, it wasn't one or the other, i just didn't keep myself grounded. I should've told her, should've said how much she meant to me, and I should've taken her with me to London. Now she was here and it was too late. She had a boyfriend, and he was treating her the way I could've. And I had a girlfriend. My life was a bloody mess.
'Josh, you're gonna miss the next act!'
Jessie was standing in front of me, looking up at me with a sweet smile. I ran a hand through my hair, breathing in deeply as I took a moment to collect myself.
'Aren't you coming?' She bit her lip. I shook myself from my thoughts and smiled, 'Ofcourse, baby.'
I took her little hand in my big one and took her along to find a spot in the crowd. I tried to listen and enjoy the next acts, but found myself entirely elsewhere.
My eyes wandered the crowd and I laid eyes on Kirsty, up on Tyler's shoulders. He looked up to her and said something, and she laughed. Jesus. She looked incredible when she laughed. The way she grinned and threw her head back was almost mesmerising.
The last singer finished their set and Jessie screamed and clapped wildly. I laughed as she gabbled to me about how amazing the performances were on the way back to the car. I turned my head, hearing a familiar laugh.
Kirsty. Tyler was giving her a piggy back ride to their car, and they were giggling away. I humphed, hopping into the car and putting on my ray bans. Jessie got in beside me and I sped off out onto the street.
I pulled over on a quiet road, and pulled on the brake.
'You looked really cute out in the crowd today,' I whispered in a low voice. She giggled, leaning over so our foreheads touched. I ran a finger over her lip before kissing her.
I wasn't sure why, but when I closed my eyes, I saw the image of Kirsty laughing earlier. Her hair falling back as she grinned.
Oh, Christ.
I pulled away, bewildered by what had just happened. But then I found myself kissing Jessie again, I craved to see Kirsty's angelic image again. When the kissing continued, I could only think of Kirsty. It was bliss.
KIRSTY'S POV
I giggled as Tyler dumped me down on the passenger seat, buckling me in like I was a little kid. He kissed my forehead before jogging round to the drivers side of the car.
As we made our way home, we sang at the top of our lungs to Green Day.
We reached home and got out the car. Tyler had his arm around me, still singing quietly as he steered me up the path in the now growing darkness.
'...don't wanna be an American idiot,' he sang. We stopped at the door, and I gripped his coat as I leaned up to kiss him. As we pulled away, I whispered 'You aren't American, but you're my idiot.'
He smiled his gorgeous smile, bending down to kiss me again. I kissed back passionately, pleased that my wonderful boyfriend was making all the stress Josh had brought earlier go away. As we continued kissing, I could forget all about Josh. It was bliss.
Minutes later, we entered the house, Tyler hanging up his jacket. 'Want to watch a film, babe?'
I bit my lip, mumbling 'Too tired.'
