A/N: LONGISH CHAPTER WOOHOO

Chapter 10

The three of us finished our drinks and food and Louis drove us all to the recording studio Josh had texted me the address of.

'God, this place is massive!' Eve gasped as we stood in the reception of the place. Louis nodded, and the two of them wandered around the large, shiny entrance, admiring the expensive paintings and decorations as we waited for Josh to come down and meet us.

I, however, was busy glancing anxiously at my appearance in the reflective front desk's surface. I was only wearing an old (and almost antique) grey Oasis shirt, some tatty black skinny-jeans and grey chucks, with my hair thrown in a messy bun. So, in conclusion, I wasn't looking my greatest today, and I was worried about what the guys would think. I actually hadn't met Josh's band mates apart from briefly at the music festival a month or two back. I was excited and nervous to meet them!

'Kirst, are you gonna stop fussing with your hair or what?' Eve looked at me.

'But I'm not sure if I should take it out and just wear it loose.. What do you think?' I bit my lower lip in frustration.

'You're not going to meet the Queen, sis,' Louis chuckled, walking over and pulling my hands away from my head.

'Yes she is,' a smirking Josh appeared, stepping out of the elevator and approaching us, doing the famous 'Queen Wave'. 'Now, I invite you to join me and my jolly good chums in a spot of rock, and a dash of roll.'

'Cut the accent, it's awful,' I groaned, being reminded of my brothers posh imitation earlier today.

'Rude,' Josh held a hand on his heart, and spun back towards the elevator. 'Come along, children.'

We rode the elevator to the 3rd floor of the building, and walked along a corridor filled with doors which I presumed had recording studios behind them. Josh led us along to the door right at the end, pushing it open swiftly. We all stepped inside the huge studio, and gazed at framed awards and records on the walls. The room was separated by a glass wall, into a recording area and sound booth equipped with a desk of switches and knobs. On our side, there was a middle-aged bearded man, manning the switches and knobs, and through the glass in the recording part, I recognised the other 4 members of You Me At Six, organising their equipment.

They put down their instruments and cables when Josh tapped on the glass, filing through the door in the glass wall. They came up to greet me one by one. The first of them grinned at me, shaking my hand, 'Hi, I'm Matt. So you're Kirsty huh?'

'In flesh and blood,' I smiled back at him. Matt chuckled, and stepped to the side as a long haired man pulled me in to a gentle, teddy-bear hug.

'Chris,' he gave me a warm, beautiful smile.

Then an (honestly) adorable guy came over, beaming at me. I had to restrain an 'aaaw'. 'You must be Max?'

'How did you know?' He raised an eyebrow, laughing a little.

'Josh always talks about a cute little guy called Max,' I muttered, looking at my vans in embarrassment. Everyone laughed, Josh giving Max a cheeky wink. The last member of the band came over, the only blonde one in the group.

'Hey, love,' he smiled softly.

'Hi, blondie,' I giggled cheekily.

He grinned, 'My names actually Dan, but whatever floats your boat. Nice tshirt by the way.'

'Thanks,' I smiled, secretly pleased someone had complimented my favourite, well-loved Arctic Monkeys tee.

'Music timeee!' Matt announced, and the lads all whooped before piling back into the recording booth. Lou, Eve and I all took a seat, excited to hear them play. The man controlling the buttons and sliders, who's name I had learnt to be Daryl, spoke to them through the speaker and they started the first song, the 'recording' sign above the door flashing red.
