Chapter 13
It was Wednesday afternoon, and I had just finished my shift at the store. I greeted my fiancé as I got into his crappy old car.
'You smell surprisingly fresh for a long working day,' I said curiously as he pulled me in for a hug. Tyler chuckled, putting the car into drive.
'I showered after I finished at the gym,' he told me, 'I knew you'd take forever to get ready in the bathroom once we got home.'
'Ah. Very wise, grasshopper,' I winked.
We arrived at our flat and I headed straight for our room, dumping my stuff on the bed and rushing into the ensuite. I stripped off and hopped in the shower, washing my hair and body thoroughly before hopping out again. I dried off and walked back into the bedroom with a towel around me. I rummaged through the wardrobe trying to find something to wear to Fletcher's dinner.
'Babe?' I called.
'Yeah?' Tyler's voice replied from down the hall.
'Can you come here? I need help choosing a dress.' Moments later he strolled into the room.
'That white one will be fine.'
'What?' I was confused; none of the dresses I had laid out were white...
'This one,' Tyler stepped closer, tugging at the towel wrapped around me.
I hit his arm playfully as he smirked, obviously pleased with his little joke.
'Very funny, but I am not going in a towel.'
'Fine,' he pouted, taking a proper look at the outfits I had laid out on the bed. 'Just wear this one then. You'll look hot in any of them.' He picked up a white and black dress with a skater style skirt, handing it to me before strolling back out of the room.
I changed and then applied light foundation, black eyeliner and mascara, and some red lipstick. I was usually one to shy away from bold statements, but I loved the contrast of the bright red with my pale skin and dyed jet black hair.
I pulled on my beloved pair of ankle boots; black leather with silver buckles, and grabbed my dark brown shoulder purse.
Tyler came in to change out of his sporty clothes, and being the cheeky girl I am, I stayed in the room while he got dressed. I hummed in approval as Tyler removed his T-shirt, revealing his toned torso. He blushed slightly as I made jokish suggestive comments; he could be so shy about some things even around me, it was adorable. He put on a dark blue button up shirt and changed from his running shorts to dark-wash skinny jeans. The jeans were quite old so clung pretty tightly to his legs, clearly showing his muscular thighs.
We were finally ready to go and arrived at Fletcher's place just on time. We were invited to a quiet dinner for 6, but the music booming from inside his house suggested otherwise. He came to the door to greet us with a wide smile.
'Theres lots more people here than we thought,' I yelled over the loud stereo system. Fletch grinned.
'Yeah, I decided a proper party would be more fun. I invited some of your friends too though, don't worry.'
He gestured towards the far corner of his lounge where the You Me At Six boys stood, waving at us. Tyler and I walked over and I gave them each a hug.
