Recap: Mario got Fludd and his first Shine Sprite.

--------------------------------------------------------------

"Nice work, Mario!" Peach said.

"Mm, quite an unusual device...Is it some sort of pump?" Toadsworth asked.

"I am Fludd. Glad to meet you."

"Hey, someone's coming!" One of the toads said as two Piantas who appeared to be police officers marched up to them.

The next thing they knew they were in court and Mario was thrown in jail.

A green Pianta with a grey beard and black clothes banged his gavel on the podium.

"Court is now in session!"

A blue Pianta with a blue jacket and glasses walked up to the front.

"As you are no doubt aware, someone has been senselessly defacing fair Isle Delfino using some paint-like substance. The accused is charged with polluting our beautiful home and yes, endangering our very way of life. Indeed, how can one not be aware of what is going on? Though it is daytime in Delfino Plaza, our poor residents tremble beneath the veil of darkness.  Expert Shine scholars (really? wow XD) have determined that this darkness has arisen because all of our guardians, the Shine Sprites, have vanished from their gathering spot at the Shine Gate. The reason? It's quite obvious. This horrible graffiti is to blame! Behold this sketch of the perpetrator based on eyewitness descriptions. (LOOK AT THE PICTURE) The truth is obvious. The guilty party sits among us.  It is none other than Mario!"

"OBJECTION!" Peach and Toadsworth yelled.

The green Pianta responded. "Overrruled! I judge the defendant guilty as charged! I hereby order the defendant to clean this entire island.  Until Isle Delfino is completely free of his vile handiwork, Mario shall not be allowed to leave!"

Mario just stared dumbfoundedly at him from his jail cell.

*Bangs gavel* "Court adjourned!"

Fludd explained to Mario. "This appears to be quite a predicament, Mario. Data analysis verifies that the island's inhabitants are indeed troubled by pollution.  But the pollution itself is not the main problem. Shine Sprites are the source of power on Isle Delfino. They used to gather in great numbers at the Shine Gate. But, the graffiti incident has polluted the island and most of the Shine Sprites have fled. There is no longer any power to support the peaceful lifestyle of the islanders. It is most pitiable. The only way to ensure the return of the Shine Sprites is to keep the island from becoming any dirtier. The perpetrator is likely at work even as we speak. And you, Mario, are being treated as a criminal. Tommorrow, we must do our best to resolve this situation." (In the game it asks, Do u want to hear this explanation again? Nevermind, I will put this fail in Book of FAIL.)

The two police officers from earlier brought Mario outside and told him this.

"Go straight that way. You can't miss the mess, pal! Your first job's to get rid of all that ugliness.  And remember, we'll be watching you, pal. We'll know if you start slacking off."

Delfino Plaza

GO!

Mario hurried past all of the shops turned right and saw a similar blob of graffiti to the one at the airstrip except this one was brown and white.

Mario killed it just like the first one and instead of a Shine Sprite, a statue of a Pianta slowly arose out of the ground. A guy that was basically a blue Mario (Shadow Mario) with a staff with graffiti on the end was on top of the statue, looking like a boss. He triple backflipped off of the statue and grabbed Peach and ran away.

Mario hurried after him to save Peach.

Every few steps the man would stop for a second and quickly paint an M on the ground.

Mario sprayed water at the man as he ran.

After a short time Shadow Mario fell on the ground from water.

Peach was breathing hard while sitting down on the ground, and Shadow Mario looked like he was trying to swim on the ground.

"Ow ow ow OW! Not fair! Completely unfair! You shouldn't be allowed to use tools like that!" Shadow  Mario complained like a child.

He ran away and jumped on the rooftops as Mario followed after him. He then went to the statue from earlier and drew a M in graffiti on the statue and jumped inside the graffiti and disappeared.

Mario sprayed the graffiti with Fludd then jumped in after him.

There were a bunch of cutscenes in the beginning, but that is pretty much it for the rest of the game. Well, hope you liked it ^^
