Chapter 18

Aphmau's POV

The breeze picked up and the leaves in the trees rustled, while we were surrounded by flower petals.
I laughed, "They're singing!" This caused Garroth to also laugh, and I stood up.
"Dance with me." I said, holding out my hand.
"Wha-" He started blushing.
"Dance with me." I repeated.
Smiling, he took my hand, and we danced. We danced on the hilltop, while the trees were singing. I could see Phoenix Drop, and I could see Laurance watching us from the rooftop of his house. Garroth saw him too, I know, but neither of us stopped dancing. Neither of us cared.

-----The Next Day-----

I gave Garroth the day off, to sleep. We danced on the hill almost all night, and when we came back, we were both exhausted. Kawaii~Chan brought us breakfast, and Zoey took Levin and Malachi to the library to learn stuff.

The ball is in six days, and I'm actually really excited. We haven't had a party in a while. Truthfully, it wasn't that long ago, but I love parties!

It was storming outside, and I smelled hot chocolate. Making my way into the kitchen, I looked at picture on the wall. I had never noticed it before. It was a picture of a boy, but he was wearing armour, so I couldn't see his face. I was looking at the picture still, when Garroth came with two mugs of hot chocolate. He handed me one, and I gave him a grateful smile.
"Who is he?" I asked, as Garroth came to stand next to me.
"That was Zenix, when he first came to me..." He replied, although he was lost in his own thoughts. I stayed silent for a minute, before I spoke.
"You miss him don't you..."
"He...he was like a son to me...I wish he never turned on us. I wish life wasn't so unfair."
"I know, we all do. But there's nothing we can do about it. All we can do is be there for each other. And I'm here for you, if you ever need to talk." I said before making my way to the kitchen table. I sat down, and Garroth followed a few moments later.

We sat in silence for a few minutes, before I looked behind me, out the window. It was storming, still, and I just watched the rain pour.

"You know, the bigger the storm is, the brighter the rainbow appears." I said quietly, "The harder life is, the more beautiful the outcome is."

"...That-That was deep."
"I know. Something is wrong with me, I never say deep things!"

We both laughed, and then Garroth spoke.
"This is why I love you."

Zane/Zanerina's POV

My brother. He stole my bride, and betrayed our home. He will pay for what he's done. They all will. I will attack with all my guards. I will make this whole village sorry for what they did to O'khasis. For what they did to me.

See, I have always been second to my brother. Ever since I was born, my brother has been top priority. He was the most special, his marriage to the first born of Scaleswind mattered. I figured that after he had run away, I might get some attention. I don't get why We have to go after him and force him to marry someone he doesn't love. Instead of looking towards me, they just make a bigger deal out of him. It's always about Garroth.

Garroth, Garroth, GARROTH!!!

It was never, hey Zane, wanna hang out? It was always, hey Zane, is your brother around? And now I'm grateful. I am not a family disgrace, plus my years of living alone has taught me survival skill.

Lesson one: If you're hungry, order the maid to make you a feast.

Unfortunately, there are no wild maids around here, so I had to learn to hunt and cook over an open fire.

So much work.

But the new episode tho. I died. And then I came to life and died again. It's a hard knock life, for us fangirls.
