After ordering 2 burgers, 3 large fries and 2 sundaes, I remembered the reason why Finn wasn't able to attend book club.

"Hey, Finn, who's the new student?" I asked while mindlessly tapping the table.

I noticed that he was in deep thought before he answered.

"Uh. He's, you know, a guy. And, uh we have the same height. And his name is Patch. And will you please stop that?" He motioned my loud tapping.

"'A guy'? That's the best you can do? And I'm doing this to stop my ugly nail-biting habit."

"Well, he's a normal teenager, what more information do you need?"

I was about to reply when the waiter gave our orders.

"Excuse me, Sir, Ma'am, your orders."

We murmured thanks and devoured our food. And I forgot my reply to his unanswered question.

I looked at my watch and noticed that it was still six pm and that I have 2 more hours before my curfew.

"Hey Finn let's watch Iron Man 3" I said excitedly. I've waited for this movie for 3 months already so I really need to watch now.

"Right now?" He said uneasily.

"Yeah! Yes right now!"

"I c-can't. I have a date" He said apologetically.

"Are you and Sarah finally dating?" I asked happily. He'd been crushing on Sarah for four months now so I'd be really glad if they'll be in a relationship someday.

"Yeah. Sorry Alex." He said while scratching his hair.

"Dude! Are you kidding me? That's great! You finally got to ask her out." I said as I slapped his shoulder congrats.

"Ow! You're so violent" He said as he rubbed his shoulders.

"And you're such a baby. Go! Leave now or you'll be late! I'll just ask Jen."

"You sure it's alright? I mean, I am kinda bailing you."

"Yes, now shoo! I'm gonna make some calls."

And I called Jen, she said yes, and now we're in our seats, about to watch Iron Man 3.

And it was the best Iron Man movie ever.

"Oh my gosh that was absolutely amazing!" I couldn't stop gushing over it.

"Yeah I know right! The funniest part was when they met the 'Mandarin' and kept on asking 'This is the Mandarin?'" Jen said, unable to stop laughing.

"Yup and my favourite part was when all the suits arrived at the port. It was just so exciting."

"My favourite part was 'Operation Clean Slate'" Jen replied.

We laughed at ourselves when I noticed the time.

"Jen, tell me it's not 8:30 yet."

"Let me guess, curfew?"

"Yes! Shoot! And I'm thirty minutes late! I'm gonna be so dead."

"Don't worry I'll attend your funeral" She said laughingly as her hands were rubbing my back trying to 'comfort' me.

"Ugh. Catch ya later, bye!"

I ran to my car, drove as fast- but safely- as I can to the house and silently prayed that I'm going to be grounded for two weeks.

One week is fine for me. And I checked my phone.

15 missed calls from Mom.

I'm dead, I am so very dead.

As I opened the door I saw my two very pissed off parents.

My Dad stood up first. He had jet-black hair, a tall figure, and very brown eyes.

"Do you know how worried we were? We kept on calling your phone but we couldn't reach you." He said while rubbing his forehead.

"I know Dad, sorry. Jen and I watched-"

"Iron Man 3 we know" Dad said, cutting me off.

"But, how-"

And again, I wasn't able to finish my sentence.

"We called Finn of course. We called Jen first but we couldn't reach her phone either." Mom said, as Dad sat down.

Mom has brown hair, an average height, and crystal blue eyes.

"Finn said you wanted to watch Iron Man." Mom continued.

"Mom, Dad, sorry for worrying you, I promise, that if I'll ever be late again, I'll text you guys first." I said apologetically as I hugged them both.

"It's fine." Dad said.

"Just don't do it again or you'll be grounded for two weeks. And go eat dinner. We already ate." Mom said as she motioned me to go to the dining table where my dinner was prepared.

After eating dinner I hugged my parents' goodnight and went up to my room. I took a shower, and wore pyjamas and a t-shirt. Perfect.

I opened my laptop and it took almost five minutes before it turned on.

And in that moment, I swear, I needed a new laptop.

I logged in on facebook, scrolled through some posts, hated the posts, and continued to search on books.

I was reading 'Shatter Me' on Wiki when I heard the loud chat sound of facebook.

Finn Williams:

Yo! Sup?

Alex Miller:

Hey. I almost got grounded. I reckon it's a good thing you didn't watch the movie with me.

Finn Williams:

See, told ya I'm your saviour. ;)

Alex Miller:

Ha-ha. Funny. Btw, how's your date? :)

He didn't reply for three minutes.

Finn Williams:

It was fine. I gave her flowers and stuff.

Alex Miller:

That's great!

Finn Williams:

I bought three tickets for a concert party next week. Me, you and Jen.

Alex Miller:

I'm not sure tho.

Finn Williams:

What? It should be a YES!

This is unancceptable.

I'm comin' over tomorrow.

-I told you he's stubborn.

I said goodbye, prepared tea, and read 'To Kill a Mockingbird'.
