**Ava's POV**
It was Saturday afternoon and I was unfortunately waiting for Luke to arrive at my house. Somehow Mr Copperfield managed to persuade Luke into the whole tutoring thing, I don't know how nor do I want to know. To be honest I just want to get this over and done with so I don't have to deal with him anymore. He's been an ass to me ever since year 3 started and I hated him ever sine, I never knew why he was being an asshole but I had better things to do than to ask about it.
After a while of thinking there was a knock on the front door downstairs and after about a minute I heard heavy footsteps on the staircase. I sighed in realization that the nightmare was about to start. Surely Luke wouldn't pass an oportunity to get under my skin, especially not when we were alone in my room and nobody was there to see it. My door was kicked open and a tall figure appeared in my doorway. "Hi" a deep and raspy voice said, "Mhm" I replied while getting up to get my math notes out. I heard a loud sigh before Luke spoke up again, "Look, I'm not here to mess with you okay, I just wanna pass math so if you could stop being a stuck up bitch and help me, that would be lovely." I rolled my eyes before turning around only to see him getting comfy on my bed, I decided to just ignore it and sit next to him.
"So what exactly do you need help with?" I asked, he didn't reply. "In order for me to help you, you need to help me out first." I said, trying to sound as annoyed as possible. Luke started taking something out of his pocket, at first i thought it was a stupid note that he'd forgotten to give me during class but after he handed it to me I realized that it was a list of things he needed help with. My eyes widened at how easy most of these things were. "Fractions and ratio? You realize that most of these are like year 6 material right?" I asked confused, "Yes. Who said I was smart?" He answered, clearly not giving a shit about what I had been saying.
After a few hours of working we took a break, "Do you need anything to drink or eat?" I asked sounding as nice as I possibly could, which was pretty hard considering that it was Luke I was dealing with. "I'll have a drink thanks" He replied just as nicely. I smiled at him before asking "What do you want? We have coke, ice tea, orange juice and water.", Once again he returned the smile and replied "I'll have coke please". It shocked me how polite he was being. I mean he was never like this or at least not when it came to me, i was always the number one person he hated, I don't know what's changed now. I cleared my head from Luke and headed downstairs to get our drinks. The walls in my house were paper thin so I pretty much heard everything that was happening in all the rooms, so after I left I heard Luke's phone ring and apparently the phone call was about me because I could hear my name clearly being said, I'm also pretty sure that he was in someway defending me because he kept repeating "She's not that bad" and "You don't even know her!". The conversation ended pretty fast though and Luke walked downstairs, clearly frustrated. "So are how the drinks?" He asked as if nothing ever happened, but I decided to just ignore it and answer as if nothing ever happened. "Here you go Luke!" I said sounding pretty cheerful for some reason.
he looked at me in counfusion "What's got you all smiley?" I froze for a second before replying, "Huh? No nothing". Although at this point I thought he knew I heard his phone call judging by the smirk on his face but once again I ignored that and cleared my head from it. "So what do you wanna do now?" I asked, "I mean we could get back to studying, or watch TV or something. Or if you want you can go home, I don't wanna keep you here" I quickly said. Luke smiled at my awkwardness and replied "Let's watch a movie?" I was once again shocked by his reply, Luke Hemmings actually wanted to watch a movie with me. I didn't want to be bothered by the situation anymore so I just decided to ask about it. "So, how comes you're not like, giving me bullshit for whatever it is I did to you?" I asked, it was his turn to freeze this time, I think he even blushed a little bit. "Actually, I think I better go" was all he said before getting his stuff and leaving, I didn't bother questoining it or stopping him. I just let him leave, after all he wasn't obliged to tell me, I was just hoping that whenwe got back to school on monday things would be different. But I didn't want to get my hopes up.
