Dating?

It was now quater to 6, which meant that i should probably get going if I wanted to meet Calum on time. I was still very confused as to why he wanted to meet me but decided against questioning it, he would probably tell me anyway.

I walk into the starbucks that reminded of everyday before shool, I always hang out here with Michael and Mae. As soon as I walk in I see Calum sitting at a table, he was too distracted by his phone to see me come in so I just walked up to him and sat down. "Hello" I said smiling faintly, I didn't want to be harsh already. I mean Calum was Luke's best friend but I don't actually remeber a time when he joined in with Luke, I think he even looked uncomfortable when Luke did bully me. "Hi" He says shyly. That was new. I could sense how nervous Calum was but I still had no idea why. "So, how comes you wanted to see me? Did Luke ask you to do this so he didn't have to come tutoring anymore?" I questioned. Apparently he found something funny because I swear I heard him chuckle. "No. Actually. I wanted to see you" He answered, emphisinng the word 'wanted'. Hearing Calum say this actually calmed me down, I mean it couldn't have been bad if he actually wanted to see me. i gave him a confused look but he spoke up before I could. "Look, I know this might sound stupid and feel kinda weird since Luke has been torturing you for years now. Ava I really like you." His voice faded and he said the last few words. My heartbeat suddenly sped up and everything started spinning. Did he actually just say that? Did he mean it? What if he's just playing a prank on me because Luke asked him? All of these questions building up in my brain. I wanted to belive him and I wanted to give it a try so I pushed all of my thoughts aside, took a deep breath and said. "Calum? Do you mean that?" He looked a me for a moment before nodding his head, "Definitley." He sounded so sure of what he was saying, surely he couldn't have been lying. I smiled "Then how about, we go see a move somethime?" I asked. 

He looked up at me, I could see just by his facial expression how happy he was to hear my words. "So maybe you could stay for a while and we could get to know eachother better?" He asked. I couldn't resist but to agree, This was the first time in forever that a guy was interested in me and no matter how terrible his freinds were I knew I should give it a try. We sat in starbucks for hours just talking about eachother and laughing about anything and everything. How could such a great guy like Calum be friends with someone like Luke? They're so different in so many ways, how do they ever get along? I was so lost in my conversation with Calum that I lost track of time, I look at my phone. 8.30 already. "I've had a great time with you today. Honestly. But It's getting really late and Michael is probably wondering where I am" I say to him with an apologetic face, he gives me a confused look in return. "Michael?" He questions, he must have thought that there was something between me and Michael but I quickly explained. "Oh no! Michael is living with me for a while, probably until he finds his own place. His family isn't in a good place right now and I really couldn't let him stay with them" He nods, and  understanding  has appeared on his face. "How about I walk  you home then? As you said It's getting really late and I would feel much better knowing that you're safe" He says. I agree and we make our way to my house.

Once we get there I notice that the lights are on in the kitchen. Michael probably got hungry again. I turn to face Calum "Thank you. I had a great time with you today and we should definitley do it again sometime" I tell him with a huge smile on my face, he smiles back. "Yeah me too" He agrees before kissing my cheek and begining to walk away. "Wait! Calum?" I said quickly before my mind could change, "Did you want to come in? I would love to introduce you to Michael, properly introduce you to him." I say shily before looking down. "Of course beautiful" He answers with a smile before the two of us walk up to the front door. I quickly twist the key in the lock before walking in, Calum folowing close behind. "Michael?" I call out waiting for an answer, "In here!" He calls beack from the kitchen. I ask Calum to wait outside the kitchen before I speak to Michael, "So you know how I've been out all night and you won't be mad at me after I tell you who I was with cause you love me too much?" I ask quickly before catching my breath. He raises an eybrow and waits for me to tell him, I wave at Calum to come in. "Michael, this is Calum. Calum, meet my best freind Michael" I say with a smile on my face. They shake hands and errupt in an imidiate conversation about why I was with Calum. 

Calum stayed for a few more hours before heading back home. "So? What did you think?" I ask Michael right after Calum leaves, desperate to know how he feels about Calum. "He seems like a pretty cool guy, I don't understand why he's friends with Luke though. I mean he would fit in perfectly with us" He says with a smile. His words calm me down. "Also I think I'm going on a date with him" I blurt out, Michael's head imidiatley turns to look at me. He isn't angry though, he looks more shocked than angry. "You're what?" He asks, though I know that he heard me the first time. "Yeah" I say quiter this time. "Do you relize who his friends are?" He questions, "Michael, i know but the past few hours I learned so much about him! He's so different to Luke! He's so sweet and caring, Michael he actually has feelings!" I explain to him. Telling Michael about boys was kind of important, It was a bit like asking for approval from the father I never had. Except he wasn't my father. He meant so much more to me than my father ever did. He stayed when my dad chose not to. It was important to me that he approved of the boys I dated. "Sooo? Will you give him a chance?" I asked, almost begged. I heard a loud sigh coming from his mout and I knew I had won him over. "Thank you Mikey you're the best! Love you!" I exclaim before embracing him. 

After I finished hugging Michael, I recieved a text from Calum.

Calum: So about that date you mentioned earler... ;) xx

I smile at my phone before sending a text back.

Me: What about it? :) xx

Calum: Well I was thinking and...how does Friday night sound? xx

Me: Sounds great! Pick me up at 7 ;) xx

I had no idea where all this confidence but It was definitley better than the normal me.

Calum: Make sure you don't wear anything fancy though. I like your casual style ;) xx

Me: Got it xx

I send the text before putting my phone down and getting in the shower.
