The whole trip started with one long flight to down to Mexico. Then another plane ride from there to Caracas, Venezuela. And then from there on down to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. And a private plane chartered us from there to our destination.

Ivy wasn't joking. We were really on our way to South America, and I couldn't believe it. I decided to believe everything Ivy had told me at the coffee shop once I saw her buy the plane tickets. I knew then that she had been telling the truth about everything. We had a long, long trip ahead of us. First we flew to Mexico I had slept most of the plane ride from being completely exhausted, once there we transferred flights making the next stop Venezuela. On the plane to Caracas I had a lot on my mind. I had no idea what to expect, this was a whole new world to me - a world that I knew nothing about. I stayed quiet most of the plane ride not wanting to bombard Ivy with questions. We arrived in Caracas in the early afternoon, are next flight to Rio de Janeiro wasn't until tonight so we decided to go to this place called the Parque del Este. We had asked around wanting to know what place we had to see, and that place was mentioned far more than others. We got lucky and it wasn't too far from the airport, so we hopped into the first cab we saw, told them the name and we were off. Venezuela was the most beautiful place I had ever seen. Gleaming hills in every which way, filled with the most lavish green grass that I had never before seen. The glistening ocean was breath-taking, leaving me speech-less. There was villas' beyond villas' where ever you looked. I wished we were here longer.

I hadn't spoken much to Ivy since the coffee shop. Too much was going through my mind. I wanted to be accepted in this new life, and I was really nervous that I wasn't. My whole life that's all I had really wanted was to have friends, to be accepted, and loved. I hadn't really accomplished much. Ivy is a Goddess I thought look at her, she pours confidence. I kept that thought in my mind for assurance. Ivy was a beautiful woman, confident in her own skin. If she is happy with who she is than I was going to accept who I was and move forward with what I was.

The cab finally stops outside what looks to be a huge park. One tall shiny building in the middle of a huge field filled with trees. When we were asking around the people who had told us to go to Parque del Este, told us that it had a number of things there; a zoo; a lake to go on boat rides; and a café to eat 'and more'. Ivy gave the cab driver money and stepped out of the cab as I followed suit.

Once I was out of the cab Ivy waited a few moments before turning to me and putting her arm around my shoulder "its magnificent here isn't it?" she said with a bright smile.

I returned her smile and said "Yeah it is. I'm happy we got to look around."

"Me too" she said as we walk into the main building.

It takes us a couple minutes of walking through the field to get to the building. Once we walk inside Ivy walked right up to the woman at the desk and asked her what was the best thing to do here. She didn't really say but she told us that a lot more people go kayaking than anything else. So that's what we decide to do. Ivy pays the woman for two hours not knowing if we will use all that time but she went ahead and paid for it anyway. The woman gave us two bracelets to put on so the kayak instructor knows we already paid. She gave us a map and pointed us in the direction of the lake.

There are colossal snow-capped mountains surrounding the lake on the other side that are absolutely spectacular. The lakes' water is the clearest I've seen - and on this nice day and in this beautiful park it makes me want to jump right in. Being here in this foreign place is helping me realize that I'm different, and that my whole life is about to change. I decide I'm going to enjoy this time I have before I reach the Temple, before everything changes.

Ivy and I reach the lake and walk over to the man, who is lounging lazily in a plastic white chair smoking a cigarette. He has shaggy dark brown hair and a nice dark tan skin. He notices us and immediately sits up, he pushes his sunglasses onto his head and looks to Ivy "Can I help you?" he says in a thick accent while winking with one of his dark brown eyes.
