Ivy says something to the pilot - in another language again - even though I don't understand I'm pretty sure she's saying thank you. Ivy and I exit the plane and suddenly we're standing in a small field surrounded by huge spectacular trees. I couldn't believe I was standing in the Amazon Jungle. It was unbelievable. Just off to the left of us is a small pond, there is a dark shadow right next to it that - to me - appears to be a puma. All of a sudden my muscles tense up and I start to scream. Just as I'm about to scream Ivy comes up from behind me puts her hand over my mouth - very gently - and leans in my ear.
"Please don't be frightened Elle. I assure you there is no reason to be. You will not find an animal in this jungle that would harm you. Animals here can sense who we are and know that we don't mean any harm. Our kind also has a type of animal essence in ourselves, so the animals here look at us as one of them. That animal essence is also why we love the outdoors, if we spend too much time inside without fresh air we will grow tired and sick. If you wanted to you could walk right up to that jaguar and pet it. Seriously, it's okay." She said as gentle as her hand was.
It's a jaguar I thought amazing! Sure I believed Ivy and everything but that did not mean under any circumstances was I going to walk up to a wild animal and pet it. I'm sure that she was right and it wouldn't attack me but, I was not going to take any chances.
"So...where are we going now?" I said really confused "were kind of in the middle of nowhere" I noted.
She looked at me with that same confident smile. "What do you mean Elle? We're home."
I knew that she was taking me to the Avalon Temple, and I knew that it was in the Amazon - well, because she told me that's where it was - but I had no idea where in the world it was and where in the world we were going. Ivy obviously knew exactly where we were going because she started walking away from the pond - towards the trees, to the right. I immediately ran and caught up with her not wanting to take any chances of losing her. I couldn't really ask "hey where are we going?" because she couldn't really say "oh you know the big cave down by the bobcat?" so I just kept my mouth shut until she told me that we were there - unless I saw it myself.
We weren't walking for that long when Ivy stopped walking and set down her bag. I stopped where I was and set down mine and said "why are we stopping?"
"We stopped because we're finally here Elle." She paused as she looked at me with her jade green eyes and repeated "We're finally here."
Well once again for the twentieth time in the past day and a half, I was confused. I don't know why she said that we were finally here. Was everything she said a lie? I mean it was a really great story, I shouldn't have believed her just after seeing plane tickets. I mean that was ridiculous, anyone could've bought the plane tickets. I'm starting to get really angry after all this that Ivy said and did - it was all for nothing - a complete and total lie.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, calm down Elle" she said holding up her hands in front of her "I'm not lying - nor have I lied about a single thing I have told you. You will see the Temple, trust me. It's right here in front of your eyes. The only reason you cannot see it is because your final transformation has not happened yet. Don't worry though, the reason you can't see it as a human is because we have Topaz magic hiding it. If you were transformed right now you would be able to see through it. Trust me Elle, I am not lying to you." She said slowly and calmly trying to help myself see reason.
Whoa I thought. I couldn't believe that I had got so angry; thinking everything she said was a lie. I mean it was too good to be true. I didn't realize just how much I was counting on what she said to be true. I truly wanted it to be. I truly wanted to be someone special, important. I guess this is it I thought the moment of truth.
