The trouble (the second book to Adopted by Zalfie)

Chapter 9-Come out of your room-

Zoe's POV

Why didn't she tell us? She said that she didn't know how to tell us. And Miss Lisa didn't tell us. What happened? I went to go into Olivia's room because I knew Annie wasn't going to tell us. I went to open her door, I realized that it was locked.

"Olivia, open your door." No respond. "Olivia. Now." I heard a click and the door opened.

"Olivia, tell me why Annie won't talk to us." I said

"No. I want her to tell you. It was a good 4 years that I've known her that she hasn't been that upset about her parents. But I think she would rather talk with you then Alfie. She just needs a mother figure. So go talk to her mum." Olivia said with a smile before closing her door. I walked down to Annie's room. I knocked on the door.

"Annie, it's Zoe. Can we go on a walk?" I asked. Finally she walked out of her room and we went outside. Luckily Alfie was out back with Nala so we could leave without him bugging us. We walked down to the beach to buy icecream.

"So umm Annie, can you tell me more about your parents?" I asked.

"Well, when I was five they came to pick me up from my first day of kindergarten. They got into a car crash and were rushed to the hospital. My grandma took me to the hospital. They lasted three days. I remember that my parents said to me before they died 'That they will always love me and that they would always watch over me'. They said that right before I heard  the beep. I got my mom's necklace and wedding ring and my dad's ring. I always wear them." She said showing me her hands. " I just miss them so much. But one time an older kid tried to steal them to get money. But I have a question."

"What?" I asked.

"I want you to have my mother's wedding ring. I already have her locket."

"No. I can't. That's to special." I said.

"No Zoe. Please." She said handing me the ring.

" Here. We will make a deal. I'll try it on and if it fits I'll let you keep it until the wedding. OK?" She nodded. I tried it on. It fit perfectly. "It fits like a glove." I said. I noticed she was crying.

"No. I won't take the ring. It is too special to you." I said handing her the ring back.

"No Zoe. Take it. These are the tears of happiness. I'm glad you're my mum." I gave her a hug. Today was special.
