New Beginnings

Judgement

I woke up and stumbled into the shower when last night came flooding back..

***flashback***

I went outside to get some fresh air when I saw Maddy and Jenny screaming at each other before Jenny stormed off, leaving Maddy alone

I went over to her and embraced her in a hug.

"What's the problem ?" I asked

Maddy explained everything to me

Jenny had moved to London last summer next door to Maddy and they became friends quite quickly and did everything together, Maddy told Jenny everything and they were best friends, then suddenly one day she got home early and walked into charlie's room to find Jenny in there, Charlie in the bathroom and Jenny in her underwear. Before anyone could explain, Maddy broke down in tears, the thought of her best friend using her to have sex with her brother was soul destroying and made her feel worthless. Maddy refused to talk to either of them and Jenny moved back to the country at the end of the summer. Eventually Charlie explained to Maddy that they were just kissing and got a bit carried away and it was because Charlie's girlfriend had just broke up with him.

"It took me a long time to forgive Charlie, but he has changed now, and he says he didn't even have sex with Jenny anyway, but he's my brother, I had to forgive him, but Jenny ? She used me to get to him and it will take something extrodinary for me to forget that" Maddy sighed before getting up and walking inside

I was tired so I decided to leave, and I began walking back to the Raleigh house

I got to the door when I realised I left my bag behind, but too tired, I sat at the door for Maddy

After a while i heard footsteps and I looked to see who it was, Charlie

"What are you doing here ?" I spat, angry at what he had done to Maddy

"Actually I live here, and I noticed you left this behind..." He said, throwing my handbag at me

"Thanks" I said

He sat down beside me

"Look I don't know what Maddy told you, but seriously I have changed, I was one of those 'yolo' idiots last summer but I really have changed and I would never do anything to hurt Maddy, or anyone" he said gazing into my eyes

I looked away

"I barely even know you Charlie, " I began

"But you can get to know me .." He butted in

"But what about Maddy ?? If we're friends, she's going to think your taking me away from her.." I said awkwardly

"Yeah well I'm sorry, I panicked about thar earlier that's why I pretended not to know you but ... i knew you first, and your different, different from everyone else and your not leaving that easily" he pleaded

I blushed and smiled looking away to hide it, but Charlie pushed my face around

"Don't look away you look cute when you smile" he said

"And you look cocky when you smile" I grinned, jumping up to open the door

I went in and turned around

"See you 'round... Charlie " I smiled at him

"See ya.. Sophie" he grinned before I slammed the door in his face

I sunk down the other side of the door and buried my head in my legs

What was I getting into ??

***end of flashback***

I stepped out the shower, and got dressed

Today was the open day of Wilton university and there was a big event happening, clubs to join, internships to sign up for and classes to attend and I wanted to get the ones I wanted so I was up early to get there first

I also was meeting Jenny for coffee in Starbucks so I wanted to leave before Maddy got up, as I needed Jenny to start explaining

I rushed down the stairs and bumped into Lucas

"Ah hey !" I smiled 

"Hey are you off to the open day ? It's only 9.00 !! " he said

"Yeah I know I'm meeting someone for coffee first " I said

"Ah okay is Maddy up yet ? I was just going to go make her some breakfast " Lucas asked

"Nah she's still in bed but go make her something naww that's soo sweet " I cooed and I left Lucas and ran down and out the Raleigh house towards the street where I walked down town to the Starbucks across from the Uni campus

I went in and noticed Jenny wasn't there yet so I went ahead to order

"Hi can I help you ?" Said the guy at the desk

"Ehh ill have.... " I began  

"Ill have a caramel frappuccino please" said a voice beside me

I turned to see Charlie rooting around in his pocket for some money

"Sorry I don't have any change will you take a £20 ?" Charlie asked, but I walked over and put a £5 on the desk

"That should cover it " I smiled and went back to order my coffee

I got my usual - caramel frappuccino and sat down at a table ad got out my phone

Charlie plonked himself down beside me

"Here " he said passing me the £20 

I pushed it back at him

"No take it, and it's for the trouble I've caused" he pleaded 

 

"Charlie I don't want your money " I laughed

"Fine suit yourself " he huffed

"Who are you meeting here anyway at nine o'clock in the morning ?" He asked, getting up

Before I could answer, he by walked through the door

"You have GOT to be kidding me" he said

"I can explain" I began

"Another time, I am not starting a conversation with that one" he said and he left Starbucks as quick as he could

Jenny saw me and sat down

"Look Jenny I've heard about what you did to Maddy .." I began

"Sophie I've changed I really have I'm still a virgin !!" She Said, looking hurt

" look Maddy is my friend and I, for one am not going to go behind her back with another person, it is up to you to show her you are sorry, and once you succeed, you will have earned both out friendships back " I said, and I got up a left

For the first time I felt in charge of my actions, and it felt good
