I woke up to a pounding on the door. I turned onto my side and and saw my roommate was already crawling out of bed. Knowing I would miss breakfast if I didn't get up, I pushed my blanket to the side and put my bare feet on the cold floor.
My outfit for the day consisted of black jeans and a plain, blue t-shirt. I followed Josh down the stairs and we got ourselves some food before sitting in the corner of the room. Josh was really my only friend. Everyone else ignored me... Or was much younger than me. Being 16 in an orphanage wasn't the best, but it's not like I was really here to get adopted. I honestly just wanted somewhere better to live until I was 18 and could live on my own. I had no other family members, so going across the country was my only option.
The owner of the orphanage came in the room, her heels clacking on the hardwood floor. She was so fat, I felt like the buttons on her shirt might burst open from the pressure.
"All girls, please come and line up for interviews," she announced in her manly voice. I rolled my eyes and Josh laughed, taking a piece of burnt bacon from my plate.
"See you later," Josh called.
"See you," I replied, giving him a smile.
I stood on line for interviews for fifteen minutes. When it was finally my turn, I walked in without looking up from the floor. When I took my seat I finally looked up, seeing a guy who had a familiar face. I definitely knew him from somewhere...
"Isabelle," Ms. Callahan, the fat owner, greeted. "This is JC."
"Hi," I said.
"Hello," he smiled. He had curly hair sticking out from under a hat.
"Nice to meet you, I guess," I shrugged.
"What are some things you like?" He asked me.
"Pulling pranks, being sarcastic, and uh, YouTube."
"You know, I am a Youtuber," JC says. Suddenly I remember where I've seen him.
"Oh! I thought you looked familiar! You're in O2L, right?"
"Yeah," JC laughed. "Would you like to be adopted by O2L?"
The thought ran around my head. I hadn't planned on actually getting adopted, but maybe it would be a good thing...
"I don't know..." I began.
"Come on," JC said to me with a smile. "You seem fun, and the guys would love you. So what do you say?"
"Yes! But... Under one condition."
"What is that?"
"You have to adopt Josh too."
