Isabelle's POV
Josh and I were led to our bedroom and we walked in with our jaws dropping. It was the size of eight rooms at the orphanage. I immediately rushed over to the window, looking out at the backyard. There was a huge pool that stretched across almost the entire area.
JC must have seen me staring and chuckled. "Do you have swimming clothes?" he asked.
Josh shook his head. "There's no need at the orphanage."
"Well tomorrow we're going shopping, so you pick some out."
"What else are we getting?" I asked curiously.
"Electronics, clothes, and whatever else you want really. You can get stuff to decorate the room with if you'd like."
"We get to decorate the room?" Josh gasped.
JC nodded and Josh and I exchanged excited looks. We hadn't been able to make the room ours at the orphanage.
"It's getting late, I'll let you guys get some rest," JC said, then he left the room, closing the door softly behind him.
Josh jumped on me, locking me in a bone crushing hug. "Thank you for taking me with you," he muttered.
"Of course," I replied, hugging him back.
Later...
It was late now, and I could hear Josh's breathing from across the room. I was sitting on the seat under the window, looking outside at the sky. The stars were twinkling and the moon was a crescent. I loved the way the moonlight reflected on the water of the pool.
In this moment, it felt like, maybe, just maybe, my life wouldn't turn out to be that bad.
