He aims the gun on my head. I aim my rifle at his leg. "I can leave you to suffer. And I will." I say sniffling. A Russian walks up beside me and aims his rifle at him.
His fellow soldiers all line up beside me and aim.
"Your choice commander man." Says the Russian.
He fires injuring a soldier causing him to drop in pain. We all fire. I ignore the brutality that I just caused. The pain that's going to his family. The people I just hurt. But I hold onto the thought that I made the right choice.
I did the right thing. We all lower our weapons and I run to Sickles body. I hear a cough.
"Sickle?" I ask he smiles a bit and lifts up his shirt.
Under it is a bullet proof vest with one shot in it. I laugh and pull him into a hug. I laugh and cry at the same time but I smile. I squeeze him tight and pat his back.
When I unravel my arms around him I help him up. He looks at the commanders body then at me. For a minuet he looks confused but then laughs. I smile and wipe a tear away.

"So who's leading the group?" Asks Sickle. I smile.
"Were gonna leave the Russians to that." I reply.
One man walks up to Sickle and places his hand on his shoulder.
"Brave man leads brave army."
I smile plopping a commanders cap on Sickles head. He looks at me almost in tears smiling. I salute to him and he salutes back. I pay his back and we get on a chopper that takes us to base.
4 Months Later...
I look at Christina and remember the day I saved her. She looks at me and smiles then looks back at whatever she was doing. I walk up to her and sit down beside her.
"What you doing?" I ask. She looks at me.
"Knitting."
I nod. "Cool." I kiss her on the cheek and rise.
"I've gotta go speak with Sickle." I say
"Wait!" She says with so much force but almost needy I look back at her.
"What's on your mind?" I ask curious.
"Well.,.uh. I don't know how to say this but." She hesitates.
I motion her to go on.
"I'm pregnant."
My jaw drops. "What!?" I yell. Many soldiers look at me.
"I'm-I'm gonna be a father?" I whisper to her.
She nods quickly smiling. I laugh and kiss her.
"But it's only been a couple-"
"Years." She finishes off my sentence.
I cock an eyebrow. "4 months." I say.
She laughs. "Military wipes memory." She says.
"Before you left you proposed to me. I'm your high school sweetheart."
I stroke my chin. Then it comes back to me.
"That's right!" I say.
"I proposed and a month later we got married and got an apartment." She nods.
"Sorry I forgot." I say.
She shakes her head.
"It's fine."
"I can't believe it. I'm gonna be a dad. A real dad."
