The minuet I step outside I take a big gulp of air. "What's gone on at base?" I ask Christana. "We were attacked by a group of Germans. Guess they teamed with the Japanese cause moments later they attempted to bomb us."
I nod. "How's the baby holding up." She nods. "Good." I chuckle and wrap my arm around her.
We move down the street to her red Ford Focus and she opens the door soon climbing into the driver seat. I open the back door and slip into the back then use the seats as a bed. Once I close the door we take off.

Moving down the hallway was like running through Hell itself. My leg feels like it pops out of place every time I place my foot to take another step. The humid air burns the back of my throat. For a moment I actually regret killing the man.
Robert soon runs up to my side moving as if he were jogging.
"Ryan." Says Robert in a greetingish way
"Robert." I reply in the same way.
I grab the corner of a wall to help so I can actually round the corner instead of falling only wanting to die right there. Robert picks up speed and disappears into the dusty mess we call home. Now blood covers the wall and it smells of rotted corpses.
I hate this place already.
I don't deserve this.
I go from walking to shuffling. When I look up from the floor I see the door to my room. Now covered in blood with bullet holes. I kick open the door.
A German soldier sits dead on my floor.
"This is gonna take a while to clean." I say to myself sighing then turning around.
1 Month Later...
An alarm blares at base. Soldiers get trapped in one room. I look around for Christina as the lights flash out. A gunshot rings followed by the yell of a helpless male.
Shots fire until three of us remain.
Robert, me, and Christina.
Christina keeps extremely close listening to the footsteps as the enemies search the room.
Me and Robert share a terrified glimpse.
I take a small a small peak outside of the small cupboard. In the darkness I make out 8 silhouettes.
One gets closer to the cupboard I am in. I look at Christina and kiss her on the cheek.
He's right beside the cupboard now. Fear continuously runs through my veins.
I kick open the small door knocking him from under his legs. I quickly fit my hands around the gun and knock him once hard in the jaw. I fire taking one soldier down.
A quick roll to cover before firing began. I slide my rifle across the floor tripping another man. I vault the cover nailing him in has forehead.
A fist comes my way. I clutch it and twist it until a violent breaking sound comes from it. Another man raises his gun.
Before the trigger is pulled I the soldier at him so he takes the bullets for me.
3 down. 5 to go.
I hit the firing soldier twice in the jaw soon pulling him over my back then driving my leg into his neck.
I duck as a gun fires smashing another man to the wall. I hit just below my chest hitting him in the gut.
I slip my his handgun and press it into his gut pulling the trigger three times. I pull back with a spin pull the trigger nailing a man in the head.
I dive behind cover as another man fires. I run out and see his silhouette moving.
I fire at it three times followed by a thump.
The room seems clear. I don't feel safe.
A massive wave of pain runs through my bullet wound causing me to drop to one knee.
I feel blood.
I groan loudly searching for a silhouette.
He gets into my sights. I push up swinging hitting him twice in his gut.
He rams me into the wall. I drive my knee into his gut then throw him to the ground.
He gets up quickly. One swing and his fist ends up in my hand. I slam my forehead into his causing him to fall hurt.
I press my foot against his neck and violently add pressure by the second. He soon stops breathing. I sigh in relief looking for the power generator.
The lights flash back on.
"I think it's safe guys." I say.
Christina gets out first running up to me kissing.
Robert stares at me amazed.
"You. You can do that?" He says.
I nod smirking. "Basic self defense."
"Yeah, 'basic'." He says picking up one of the rifles.
"I say we find out who and why these men attacked us."
Everyone nods.
