Dear Anonymous,
Sleeping the day away,
Makes your eyes stay wide awake at night,
Like the circle of the moon,
Staying up to keep the tides at bay.
Except my eyes wide open –
Are making these tides of mine,
Brush all the way up,
To the sea wall with charcoal words,
And will not wash them away.
"Back off,"
"Be less of a failure,"
"Your fault."
And like the ocean so often covers the deep,
I'm hiding my own little thoughts,
As I swim down to the darkest parts.
