As the crowd cheer, my heart stomped from the other side of the door. I have never foreseen myself to participate in martial arts competition. Grabbed on the door knob, I open the sliding door and stepped into the hall. My eye scanned through the crowd, and spotted my schoolmates sitting at the right hand side of the hall. I walked towards their direction. Tossed my bag and sat beside Lacy on the ground.

"Hey! You're here! ," Lacy hoo-ray. "I thought you're not coming. I've been waiting for a while though."

"Nah. You know I will never pull out once I started." I replied. Lacy giggled and turned to look at the fight on the mat. Kids category really bored me out. It's just kids pushing each other and parents cheering for them aimlessly. In another word, screaming. Some kids were crying because they lose the game or they are hurt. There are also fat kids wandering around, relaxing. This makes them look like a winner even before stepping into the mat and fight.

I took out my phone and start playing Hotel Story. Collecting coins and upgrade facilities in the hotel then keep expanding it. Nothing interesting but I like listening to the sound of coins, feels like earning money.

After listening to Lacy's long winded I-am-a-loser-but-still- win story, I looked down on my phone again, focus on cooking burger to serve my customer before they run away and I lose my points. When my mind returned to reality, it's already prize giving ceremony for kids' session while they announced to gather the adults for warm-up session.

All of us stand up and put our stuff aside, getting ready. I tied my hair into bun with the 30 centimeters long hair band. People often wondered why would I need such a long hair band. I just really need it last time to keep my hair neat and tight. For what? I am really lazy to explain it, plus the past is in the past. I don't have to reminisce those unpleasant days I had for the past few years.

The participants for juniors category is so much more than I expected. Participants coming from 8 schools around the island? There are even schools who sent 30 participants while my school only have 11 of us. My heart pumped faster and I started to tremble. To this new thing, to lose the game.... I am going to lose this but it doesn't matter anymore, as long as I got my participation certificate, I will be happy for the rest of the year.

My parents insisted to send me into St Joseph All Girls School, which performed extremely well in academic results and extra co-curriculum activities. We are ranked as one of the top school out of 20 in the country since 6 years ago. All students required an impressive result to enter the school. We held big events and projects which profiting us at least 1500 dollars up to 8000 dollars. We won champion in most of the sports and talent competition every year. We even awarded by the State Minister with different title each year. Certificates, marks, points, title are making each and every of the students in St Joseph proud of ourselves. Therefore, I put myself in such situation just to get a participation certificate. Thinking of these, all those sh*ts haunt my mind again. Argh!!

It's undeniable that most of the graduates from St Joseph didn't meet their Prince Charming until their mid twenties. Can't blame. We are well- trained to live independently and work efficiently. We worked with All Boy Schools for projects and some screwed up, those boys decided to partner with other girls' school. We often ended up holding the project ourselves and it happened successfully. According to the old folks, girls from my school are androgynous since decades ago. We turned out to be too strong for a boy to protect like a babe. I had several experience trying to joke with guys and they either react coolly or annoyed. Sometimes, we ended up becoming bro, not lover. I really give up on searching my first love in high school.

Front split, side split, bridge...

Front roll,cart wheel, handstand....

People are dying during the warm-up session while warm-up session is way too easy for me.

"ROUND 1, MAT 1. Matthew in blue from Kendrick High School, Hanson in white from Sohaito High School," the emcee announced.
