Tania briefly thought of what she would do to go out that night without Fred suspecting anything. She didn't want to spend too much energy thinking about that – her brain was raw and not working as usual. She had hot sensations inside her body, and even a weird taste in her mouth, a mix of something like blood but sweeter. She called Lucille and asked her to back her up, she'd tell Fred that Lucille needed her after an ugly breakup. It was the first thing that came to her mind and that was it.
At home she did not shower. She wanted to keep as much of Michael inside and on her as she could. She put on new underwear and jeans, and ate a piece of watermelon.
Fred came home and kissed her tenderly, although Tania was a bit jumpy. She told him how Lucille was suffering after a breakup with her latest boyfriend (it was hard for Fred to keep up with Lucille's relationship status anyway), and how she'd promised to go console her and maybe even spend the night there. Tania felt like a criminal; she hated lies. She was being dishonest to Fred and she knew it, and he didn't deserve this at all. He had always loved her and treated her so well. But she could not avoid it; it was not an option not to see Michael again that night.
She left the house at 20.30h, right after they'd had something to eat. She hated to leave Fred this way, he was so trusting. She was burning up inside.
The chiropractor lived in a lively neighborhood full of restaurants and shops, there were lots of people outside. Tania had parked the car at Lucille's place; she wanted to be as careful as possible. She'd taken a cab to Michael's place, and had put on a hat that she'd never worn before.
She looked for his house number nervously and rang the bell. He opened almost straight away without asking who it was. The building was clean, modern and well kept. Tania took the stairs to calm herself down, she had not expected the big number of steps between each floor – the ceilings must be high in the apartments.
Michael was waiting at the door, in boxer shorts and a blue t-shirt. Tania forgot all her nerves and worries as she walked to him and he hugged her close, sniffing her hair. His t-shirt was so soft and his body felt so good against hers. As he closed the door clumsily Tania let her rucksack fall. They kissed hungrily. Michael pushed her to the wall and pressed himself against her. She could already feel his erection hard on her hips.
The time that followed was blurry and tender like a 70s movie. Tania could later only remember flashes but not a continuous coherent time span. Her main feeling was as if something that came from outside was radiating inside her, and her bones and body were melting down to a primitive level. All was fluffier and moister. There was also his tongue and fingers over and in her most hidden body parts, with an intimacy that was first aching but after felt so logical and familiar. Tania licked Michael's body as she had dreamed of doing; like an animal recognizing its mate in a cave. He was a rough lover, and Tania loved it, she had not known she'd missed this roughness so much until she lived it now. There was a certain impatience in this first encounter that would fall away afterwards. But the way they looked in each other's eyes and their hands locked at climax moments made Tania see clearly that this link or relationship was not going to end quickly. This would have to go on now. He was going into her body through her blood, her lymph; she was waking up to him and inhaling him through her pores.
They had sex three or four times that night, falling asleep in between, their limbs mingled wet with sweat, difficult to separate the two bodies if anyone had tried. Tania was amazed that she could sleep like that with someone she barely knew. One time she half woke and was not sure where she was – then she saw Michael's face close to hers, a soft snoring coming from him. She laughed inside like a kid, it made her so happy to look at him there, in bed, the physicality of this closeness. She had never known such deep sensuality.
Tania woke up when she heard him moving about in the bathroom. She felt raw and tender and satisfied. And hungry. She yawned and stretched and Michael came into the bedroom with his wide grin, jumped on her and gently bit her neck.
They looked at each other, a bit surprised but connected. "Please move in. Today?" he said in a very sincere and innocent voice. Tania sighed. "I would love that. But I have to think... I have to think about my husband. He has always been so good to me. I can't just dump him and leave." He nodded slowly, looking serious. "Please give me a few days to think about how to do this. This has all been so overwhelming for me, so quick, and I have to somehow catch my breath." Tania was trying to put her turmoil into words. Michael nodded a bit more convinced. "Ok. You are right, we have to think and talk it through a bit. But I want you for me. We have to be together – you know that?" "Yes I do. I feel the same." Their eyes locked. "I have to go to the practice now, but please stay here and I'll come back as soon as I can." "I have to go home this morning and speak to Fred. I'll call you and let you know when I can come back." Looking at each other they were lost again in a deep embrace, Michael almost pushing his teeth into Tania's mouth, both like eager leeches sucking themselves stuck to rocks. Tania's stomach rumbled, and they laughed. "Eat something before you go! There's a lot in the fridge. I'll feed you something else tonight..."
