Hold Each Other

Waking up to the smell of breakfast was great . Since it was rare for me . My mom would go to work hours before I wake . I would always have to make breakfast for myself , buy something , or just skip it . I smelt bacon , pancakes , and sweet syrup from the kitchen . My room was very far from the kitchen , since I was on the second floor . "Ethan ! Why do I smell so much food ?" I asked aloud . "That's because I cooked a lot of food , c'mon down !" He yelled back .

I ran down the stairs and almost tripped . I really want a fireman pole so I can just slide down . Yes , I was that lazy . When I got to the kitchen , plates filled with food were everywhere . I was so excited to eat . No one really cooks around here , since my mom's always at work . I sometimes skipped all my meals because there wasn't anything to eat . I noticed that there was an extra plate . What the heck ? Who else is in here ? "Cai , what time--" I was surprised to see my mom and cut her off . "Mom ! What are you doing here ? I mean , how ?" I asked . I missed having breakfast with my mom . "Well , I decided to take a day off ." She said sitting down , waiting patiently for her food . I sat in front of her , so Cai would have the corner . Everything was ready , I blessed the food . I was so happy to see my mom away from work . It was rare for her to have a day off . She only took day offs on four specific days . Mother's Day , Christmas , my birthday , and her birthday . She was taking two days off . Which is a lot , considering all the help the other doctor's will need .

She wanted to do something fun for Cai . I had no clue of what the heck ever she had planned . It was only 10:52 in the morning . My brother was sharing stories about his trip to Japan , which was pretty cool since we lived in the states . He said we should have a family trip there . My mom became super excited in a blink . I didn't know how to feel really . I mean that would be cool . "Can my friends come , too ? I mean we literally just graduated high school and we haven't --" Cai cut me off ,"Of course they can , this is the time you guys should be living your lives ." I was smiling ear to ear . I couldn't wait to tell everyone ! "Tell you what , how much money do you have in your savings ?" My mom asked me . I was around $5,000 at the moment . "The last time I checked , I had $5,500 ." I answered truthfully .
"Okay . I'll give you $10,000 more , so you can travel wherever you want ." My mom was making an offer . I knew there was a catch . "Whoa . Dude , you're 18 . You literally just turned 18 a few weeks ago . Mom --" I cut him off . "What's the catch ?" I looked at my mom straight in the eye and raised an eyebrow . "I want to start seeing people ." She shot calmly at me . What ?! No ! My mom is not allowed to date ... but who was I to control that . "No . I don't want--" she cut me off . Boy , we need to stop doing that . "Fifteen thousand more . You'll have $20,500 something and freedom ." Oh shit . She was serious . I didn't really care about the money (okay , maybe I did) , I cared about my mom . I didn't want to see her get hurt like she did before . I used what I learned from what happened to my parents and carried to keep me thinking . With the 5 relationships I've had . I say relationships because I have dated a girl before . She understood me better than any guy I dated . Anyways whatever back to my mom . "Fine . I get $20,500 and you get a relationship . Under one condition , you cannot have sex . No no no ." I furrowed my eyebrows . "Oh goodness , Cara !" Cai yelled at me bursting into laughter . "Deal ." My mom smiled . I forgot what I was gonna say after that .

We finished eating breakfast and I was now washing the dishes . Yeh , I know . My house is huge and all but I don't have a freaking dishwasher . Then it hit me . "GRAYSON !" I screamed dropping the fork I was holding . "WHAT HAPPENED ?!" Cai ran down with a towel wrapped around his waist and soap in his hair .
"I FORGOT TO BRING GRAYSON BREAKFAST . I TOLD HIM I WOULD BRING FETTUCINI PASTA FOR HIM ." I yelled pointing a fork at my brother . "Stop yelling !" Our mother screamed from the living room . My brother looked at me as if I were crazy . He went back up to the bathroom . I finished the dishes and sat next to my mom who was looking at something on her laptop . It looked like a page about the best airlines . "EVA AIRLINES ! OH MY GOSHH !" I was so hyped . That looks legit . Bella would love that ! I once gave her a Hello Kitty bag and pillow for her birthday and she started to cry . My mom was also excited about it . She was searching up how to book a flight easily for 7 people . I went to my room , freshened up and changed to casual clothes . I was wearing jean shorts , a grey selfie muscle tank , nike socks , and black vans .
