We marched across the dirt path through the towering oaks and shady willows. Edana stifled tears as she called out for her rooster. I almost cried myself, her voice sounded so broken and sad. Then I remembered it was only a lost rooster and I stood up straighter. Suddenly I bumped into someone that knocked me over. I started to fall and they caught me.

"Hey! Watch where you're going!" Edana yelled at a man. His dark hair was waving in the wind and his blue eyes shone out brighter than the moon around the clouds. I stood myself up and curtsied.

"Thank you, good sir. I'm sorry for running into you, I just hadn't seen you."

He looked rather befuddled. "Didn't you?"

I shook my head. Edana's eyebrow rose at the man's question.

"Well, I'd better make my presence better known next time, hadn't I?" He smiled curiously at me. He whistled and we found ourselves surrounded by rogues.

"Look boys, women!" He pushed me into the circle. I sank to my knees.

Edana stomped up behind him and, as he turned to meet her, she punched him with all the fury she had built up inside her. He spun and hit the ground. All the men gasped.

"I think I'd rather not be your toy today nor any day." She grumbled.

"Well, what are you doing?" The man grabbed his chin, "get her!" Suddenly all the men ran towards her, but her fists were blazing. I watched the ruckus when I felt myself being lifted to my feet and my arm twisted backward in an all too uncomfortable position. I screamed and Edana froze.

"I think I'd stop before you break her arm." The dark haired man sneered. Edana rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

"Sorry Edana..." I frowned.

They tied us up and pushed us into the forest.
