"Rooster! Don't do that!" I yelled. It pushed a glass of brown liquid toward the edge of a table, knocking to the floor. It shattered loudly. The rooster jumped down and began licking the floor.

"You must be quiet! We shouldn't even be in here!" I said.

Suddenly the rooster began to grow and change. It was no longer red, it was brown and white. In fact, it was wearing clothes now. Brown pants and boots and a white dress shirt. It looked rather funny until I noticed it's face. It had dark blonde hair that curled. Its eyes were bright green and its face was no longer a chickens. It had transformed into a man. A strikingly nice looking man, indeed. He breathed out loudly and ran his fingers through his hair. I gasped and stood quite still. He looked straight at me, placed his hand on my cheek and kissed me.

"Hey, just who do you think you are?" I pushed him away.

"Just a thanks for saving my life, that's all." He said, shrugging.

"How on Earth did you become a chicken in the first place?"

"Oh, my dear sister Edana. Always trying out new potions on me." He laughed.

"Potions!?"

"She's spirited, I must say. Always using me for her test subject. Last time she turned me into an elephant! I couldn't leave this room for days!" He smiled.

"Certainly not..." I murmured.

"Where is she?" He asked me

"I don't know."

"You don't know?" He gasped.

"I thought she was here?"

He hurried back towards the hall, "Come along, love! I think Daray has caught her! He hates me!"

"Why does he hate you? Did he steal from you? Did you turn him in to the law?"

"Well, um," Briant rubbed his chin, "I accidentally kissed his girl."

"Oh." I remarked. I didn't quite know how to respond to that.

"Don't go gettin yer hopes up thinking my name is Bry-Bry. My name is Briant. And you never told me yours."

"Alana."

"You are a quiet, wee thing, aren't you?" He smiled a genuinely beautiful smile. "Well, I suppose we ought to get going, though I'm sure I'd love to have a nice, long conversation with you. We have to find my poor sister!"
