The next day was Saturday. Alec had off from work. He normally did on the weekends. And after trying to get Max to bed last night, and the busy night before that, he was exhausted. Alec needed that Saturday.
He was asleep in bed, the time currently around, like, ten in the morning. Alec never got to sleep this late in the morning. It was great. Alec was shocked no one was interrupting-
There was loud banging at the door. Great. Alec was awake in an instant. He sighed and blinked, swinging his legs over his bed and walking to the door, "I'm coming, I'm coming," Alec rubbed his forehead and opened the door, seeing his father, Robert. Alec tensed slightly, actually fixing his posture.
"Oh, hey, dad."
"Hey, son. You slept quite late, don't you think?" Alec shrugged, "long night at work." Robert nodded, understanding, "alright. Try not to get home so late next time."
Alec wanted to try and explain that he couldn't control his schedule, but he didn't bother. His dad wouldn't get it anyway.
"I have someone coming to see us today. Well, you." Alec blinked, confused, "what? Me? Who?" He questioned.
Robert started, "her name is Lydia. I thought maybe you to could go out today. She doesn't have too many friends, Alexander. Neither do you."
Alec felt even more exhausted. He would be forced to hang out with some girl he didn't even know. Alec knew what his father was doing.
"I do have friends. Jace-"
Robert cut in, "Jace doesn't count. One friend doesn't count. You have to get out more, Alexander. And I'm not taking no for an answer. She's a very nice girl."
Alec sighed, nodding. "Okay. Okay."
Robert nodded and walked off, downstairs. Alec closed the door and kicked it, hoping no one heard. "God dammit," he muttered and walked to pick out clothes.
Magnus was at home. He was in his kitchen, making some breakfast - eggs. He couldn't get one thing off his mind. Well, not so much thing. More like person. And Magnus was not supposed to be thinking about this person in this way. He was thinking about Alec.
His 'competition' or whatever. Magnus was supposed to make Alec feel threatened. Magnus wanted the top spot. He needed the money for himself.
Alec was just a very intriguing person. Magnus felt himself getting attached, and he did not want to be. Magnus turned and took a seat at the kitchen table. He would not see Alec until Monday, he figured, and he had no one to talk to, so he was going to be bored this weekend. He wish he had people to talk to.
Though, on the other hand, he didn't see why Alec bothered with him.
Alec came downstairs in black jeans and a black buttoned top, sleeves rolled at his elbows, and black boots. Like usual. It was the afternoon, around the time Lydia would apparently arrive. Robert and Mayrse were in the living room, watching some television. Isabelle was out, and Max was at the kitchen table, coloring. Alec walked over to the table and took a seat, "what are you coloring?"
Max didn't look up from what he was coloring, so Alec looked. Before he could see, he heard a knock on the door.
Robert gave Alec a look, and then he stood, walking to the door, opening it up. "Lydia. Please, come in." Robert nodded at her. Lydia walked inside, looking around. She had long, blonde hair. Alec wasn't going to lie, she was pretty, but not his type. No girl was his type.
Lydia looked pretty damn happy to be there. Alec was just staring at her. He didn't know what to do. Robert shot Alec a glare, and Alec understood right away. He quickly stood and walked over, holding his hand out for her to shake. "Alec." He murmured, waiting for Lydia to shake his hand.
She did. "Lydia."
Lydia had a pretty strong grip on Alec's hand. He just looked at her, and he got a glance in return. Alec thought she looked.. Mad. Almost angry. Alec quickly tugged his hand away, hoping something would put an end to the awkward tension. Lydia went back to looking like a complete angel.
Maryse smiled and walked over, "you two go out and have fun." She nodded, wrapping an arm around Robert. Alec walked to the door, Lydia following. Before Alec could leave, he felt a strong hand on his arm. He knew it was his father's.
"Don't make it obvious." Robert whispered to him. Alec froze, shocked at how his father just said that. He told Alec to try and make it not obvious that he was gay. Father of the year.
Alec pulled his arm away and closed the door behind them. "So, uh, Lydia, where would you like to go?" He asked, walking with her down the sidewalk. She didn't say anything. Alec felt the tension. It made him so uncomfortable. He tried again.
"Lydia? Lydia? Where do you want to go? It's up to you, really-" he went to tap her shoulder, but she whipped around and grabbed Alec's finger. Damn, she was strong. Alec paused, looking confused, as well as shocked. "Lydia?"
She glared, "don't touch me. I don't like this, and you don't." Lydia let go, walking faster.
Alec sighed and caught up, "Lydia! Come on, wait up," he soon got to where she was. "Let's at least try and have fun, if we are going to be forced to do this. Please, Lydia."
Lydia huffed and looked over at Alec, "what do I get, then?"
This girl was a brat. She had a bigger attitude than Isabelle.
"W-What? I don't know, I mean, what do you want-" Alec was interrupted by her. "Kiss me." Lydia smirked. Alec felt his heart drop in to his stomach.
Kiss her? Anything but that. Alec didn't kiss girls. Obviously, but, he didn't want to. He didn't want to kiss her for many reasons. He was gay, he didn't even know her, she was a bitch.
Alec was a bitch too. But he would never give Lydia an attitude. Well, not yet, at least.
"Kiss you? But-"
Lydia shrugged, "this proves something to me, Alec." She stopped walking. Alec stopped too. "Proves what?" He asked. Lydia crossed her arms, looking up at him. "Simple. You don't want to kiss me. Of all the guys I asked that question to, they went right for it. There is something different about you. You didn't want to kiss me. I know you're gay, Alec."
Alec didn't know what to say. He couldn't even make a noise, he was too in shock. Alec didn't really talk about his sexuality. So for her to know this, wasn't good. She could do some serious blackmail.
"I'm not-"
"Don't deny it, Lightwood. Denying it also proves you are. But it also proves something else. It proves, to me, that you are," Lydia took a step forward. Alec was against a wall. He didn't even notice at first. "Scared." Lydia whispered in his ear. She then started to kiss Alec's neck.
Alec didn't know what the hell to do. If he didn't let Lydia do what she wanted, she would tell everyone his secret. His family.
"Lydia, come on," Alec tried. Nothing worked. Lydia kissed up to his jaw, holding his wrists. As she got closer, he felt her breath so close to his lips. Alec knew he wouldn't feel anything, so there really was no big deal. But so much could happen because of this. And the main fact, Alec didn't want this.
Lydia stopped, lips probably less than a half an inch from Alec's. Alec stared at her, as if waiting for her to do it. Lydia smirked, "you aren't stopping me. I've got you wrapped around my finger, Lightwood."
And with that, Alec felt such a force against his lips. One he has never felt before. Lydia was actually kissing him.
Magnus decided to head in to town for the day. He couldn't just stay inside and be lonely. Magnus had to make something out of the day. He went shopping a little, and then lunch.
Magnus threw his tray out, and left money, pushing the door to the cafe open as he exited. Magnus just took a simple walk after that. Passing all the shops, restaurants, everything. Soon enough, he turned the corner. No one was really in this part of the town. He only saw a few cars, and some couple kissing.
Minding his business, Alec continued to walk.
He suddenly realized, stopping in his tracks.
That wasn't some couple kissing. That was..
Magnus looked closer. It was Alec.
Magnus shouldn't feel this way. He shouldn't feel this kind of jealousy. He knew Alec for two days. Alec was supposed to be a rival. He wanted to hate him. Alec wasn't even his. Magnus couldn't feel jealous. But he just was. He sighed and continued to walk, looking down at the ground.
