Lydia was driving Alec crazy. She was so needy. Whenever she was around Alec's family, she would play all innocent and loving. It really annoyed Alec. Now he was stuck with this girl he didn't even want to be with. Alec wasn't even interested in girls. This made it all the worse. Luckily, after the busy weekend with her, Alec got to take a break and head back to work for the week.
He stood at the bar, Jace next to him, filling up drinks. "You know, that Magnus guy said you were a slut." Jace nodded.
Alec didn't even look at him, he just handed someone their drink, taking the money. "What a bitch," Alec scoffed. Magnus walked by, whispering to Alec swiftly, "You know you love me."
Alec blinked and looked over his shoulder, watching Magnus walk back to where he was before. What was his problem?
Magnus was really strange. It was as if he never made up his mind about how he felt toward Alec.
"I'm going to give someone their drink, be right back," Alec told Jace. He walked out from behind the bar, holding a bottle of beer. As he carefully made his way through the crowd, Alec was trying to find out just where the customer was in this mess. Alec was about to turn to another section of the crowd, when he felt a hand take his wrist.Alec turned, seeing a man. Gross, because he seemed to be in his thirties or forties or whatever. And he was clearly drunk. "Is that for me?" He slurred, grabbing the beer from Alec.
"Hey, that's not-!"
The man pulled Alec against his chest. Alec gasped, it happened all really fast.
"You should dance with me, babe," the man murmured to him. Alec tried to pull away, "I really have to go, I-"
Suddenly, the man let go. He actually fell.
Alec took quick steps back, looking to see what caused that. Magnus stood there, holding a beer bottle. Well, one that was now broken.
Alec didn't say anything. He really wanted to thank him, but Magnus helped him. He didn't know how to react, or if he even should.Magnus just looked at him, and then walked away through the crowd. Alec decided he had enough. He wasn't going to let this keep happening. Alec was not going to let Magnus be a mystery anymore. He needed to talk to him.
Alec shoved through the crowd, in the direction he saw Magnus heading in.He remembered the conversation he had with him the other week. Magnus seemed to know everything. Alec wanted to know why. All he knew was that Magnus liked to dance. Which was a good hobby. At least he knew Magnus was human. He was normal.
Eh, who was Alec kidding. No one is normal. Especially Magnus.
Alec caught sight of the colored streak in Magnus's dark hair. He went after that. Magnus stopped at a couch, taking a seat. Alone.
Now, Alec didn't want to just barge in. But he let his instincts get the best of him.
He took a seat on the couch, looking around, avoiding looking at Magnus just yet. Magnus had his eyes on Alec. He didn't look too affected by the gesture, but clearly he wanted to know what Alec was doing.
"You're welcome, by the way." Magnus suddenly spoke. Alec quickly looked at him, "hm? Oh! Uh, yeah. Thanks. He was a creep."Magnus nodded, "yeah, he was."
Speak for yourself, Alec thought.
"What did he want anyway?" Magnus asked. "I think the beer." Alec shrugged. Magnus nodded, understanding. "Clearly he wanted you too, though."
Alec didn't see what the big deal was. Why did Magnus care so much? They didn't have a strong enough relationship to be worried about each other, right? Alec didn't even know if Magnus liked him. At times, he thought he hated his guts.
Stop thinking so much, Alec.
"Why did you help me?" Alec suddenly asked, genuinely wanting to know. Magnus looked up at him. "I'm not an asshole, Alexander. I saw you needed help. That could have ended really bad. I wasn't going to let that happen."
