Chapter 8

Haven Pov

The feeling of loneliness and being abandoned once more filled me to the core. Honestly, I was just ready to die, but I can't until I save Percy. It sucks almost as much as holding up the sky, which I have done before; not an easy task might I mention. A pair of strong arms wrapped around me, pulling me close and causing a small smile, "Oh Ni-oh, thanks Jason." He nodded, not saying a word and not letting me go. He wanted me to feel wanted here, and I couldn't thank him enough, even if he did make Nico leave.

"Haven, I want to apologize. I want you to know how sorry I am. Can we be friends?"

I smiled and nodded as he kissed my head earning a scream from Percy?

Percy POV

I honestly didn't understand what Nico wanted me to do, but I agreed none the less. I had currently just left the boy, going towards where we sword practice, when I noticed two figures. One was a girl and the other was Jason. From what I could see, she's smiling and he is trying his best not to crush her in his arms. What made me lose it though, was when he kissed her head. I had realized that the girl was Haven, and she didn't look upset at all. That's when I screamed, how could they!?!

"How could you two!?!?" I spoke my thoughts.

Jason looked confused then blushed, "Perce, it isn't what it looks like. I made her upset so I needed to make her feel better."

I just nodded.

"Jackson, you don't actually think I could get over my l-crush that easily? Gods, I even know Grace has a girlfriend, I'd never do a thing like that."

I tilted my head to the side, "Did you almost say love? You love Nico?"

She bit her lip, "I did, but not anymore. He couldn't stand up for me, he didn't try to stop Jason, he didn't look for me, he doesn't even c-care f-for m-m-me!!!" She broke down, a sobbing mess on her knees.

Jason and I looked at each other seeing who would do what first. Jason decided to pull her to his lap, rocking her like a baby. I looked around for any sign of Nico, but he wasn't anywhere near. At least, that's what I thought until I heard a faint whisper, "It is for the best."

Nico Pov

Gods, I've never made decisions so difficult before. I didn't want to hurt Hav, but I couldn't stay with her anyways. Everything I get close with either dies, gets cursed, or ends up hating me. I had never known that Hav loved me though, if I would have known I'd try to fix things. But it is too late now, my bag is packed and I'm ready for the long journey to where I belong: along side my father, directing the damned souls to where they belong in Hades...
