"I will..." I murmured again, turning over.
" 'I will' what?" I started awake at the loud voice, opening my eyes to see a far larger version of my boyfriend. I yelped in surprise and backpedaled away a few centimeters, surprising him as well and causing him to flinch back. "I-I'm sorry!" He exclaimed softly. I sighed in relief and flopped back on the bed, yawning. It was only Ty.
"No... no it's ok." I assured him, loudly to ensure that he could hear me. "You only startled me, that's all." Then I remembered what Seto had said about the this size's time limit, and I sat up sharply. "How long have I been out?" I demanded.
"Almost a full day, why?"
"Shoot." I muttered, closing my eyes. How do I even go back to normal? Seto failed to mention that small little detail... I ended up concentrating on some possible resolution to return to normal, but I felt no different. I snapped my eyes back open in irritation, only to realize that I was eye level with Ty, who was staring at me in awe and confusion. "Oh..." I had gone back to normal.
"H-how did you...?" He stuttered.
"Long story." I grunted, getting off the bed. "But there's no time for that."
"Why what's wrong?"
"The dragons are going to attack, and soon."
"How-" Ty was cut off from his question when everyone else ran into the room, Felix at the front.
"Adam you told me she was smaller!" He yelled over his shoulder.
"B-but she was!" He stammered. "I measured her myself, she was about two inches tall!"
"Hi Samantha, how are you feeling?" A girl I didn't know asked, leaning closer to me with a polite smile as Felix and Adam started quarreling. I grinned and offered my hand for her to shake.
"Alive." I replied curtly. She giggled.
"That's good. I'm Nicole by the way." She shyly added after shaking my hand. I looked at the others and spotted Jerome standing next to a girl.
"Oh, yeah, this is Kat." He answered, seeing my questioning glance as he threw his arm over her shoulders. I noticed Kat blush slightly, and I started smiling. "Ooh, she likes him..." My naughty side was saying.
"Pleased to meet you." I dipped my head at her, and she dipped hers in return, smiling at me.
"I must indeed state aloud that I am of great joy that one amongst you all have similar customs as of my ways." She replied. I blinked, a larger grin forming over my mouth. I like these two newcomers already.
"Ah, well I hate to break your personal bubbles of joy everyone, but we have to leave." Everyone except Ty stared at me in confusion
"Whe', wha ?" Mitch asked, tilting his head. I closed my eyes for a moment, recalling Seto's words.
"They'll come from the South-East, so we'll have to North and then travel as far away from Washington." I quoted.
"Ho-hold on." Igor, who I had not seen for awhile, piped up. "Wh-what?" As Kittin and Jordan caught Igor up on everything that was going on, I continued.
"I-I know a safe place, it's far away from Washington. It's all the way down... i-in Texas." I realized that I was nervous at the mention of the state, so I distractedly wiped my brow with the side of my arm.
"Great, but... why are the dragons coming here?" Taylor asked.
"Because they're after Wildstar and the troops that she and her friends have gathered." I replied slowly.
"Oh."
"Ok, I'll warn my friends." Wildstar muttered before slipping away from the small crowd that had gathered at the doorway of my recovery room.
"Everyone needs to start packing only things that are essential, like water and food, and maybe take a light item that they hold dear if they must." Everyone except Ty and Adam dispersed quickly at my words, knowing that I was not joking. I sighed tiresomely as Adam approached me.
"How long do we have?" He asked. "Before they get here?" I sighed inwardly.
"I don't know, but I have to do something before they do." I left them in my wake and started making my way through the halls, the two boys rushing to catch up to me.
"Oi, where do you think you're going?" Ty challenged, matching my pace.
"I need to do something." I repeated, turning into the hallway that Seto's room was located in. I went into it, not bothering to shut the door since Adam and Ty were still right behind me, and I pulled the book of its designated place on the shelf, flicking the switch and revealing the secret staircase.
"Whoa." I heard Adam mutter under his breath as I jogged down the stairs. They both quickly followed me as I turned into the hallway, then took a turn and found myself back in the main room. AlterSorcerer was there, but he was browsing through the bookshelves, as if looking for something.
"Is that... Seto?" I heard Ty ask. AlterSorcerer also heard this, and he turned to see us.
"Oh, hello Master Majo!" He chirped cheerfully. "What brings you down here again, may I ask?"
"Uh, AlterSorcerer," I started, still not used to how formal he always spoke. "There's going to be an attack on the University, so we all have to evacuate."
"But Master, I will be quite safe down here. There are many secret passageways, it would take them a year at least to find me should I needeth hide." He replied.
"Really?" I asked, surprised. Last time, he had said that there wasn't much more passageways.
"Master, I did not mean to mislead you when you were in that one tunnel." He said softly, as if reading my mind. "There are many more secret passages, hidden everywhere."
"Oh." Was all I said, understanding. Suddenly, the ground started shaking, and in the distance I heard roaring. "Whoa!" I yelped, loosing my balance.
"Samantha!" I heard Ty exclaim over the noise.
"Samantha, can you still do that shrinky-dinkey-thing?" I heard Adam shout.
"Yeah! Why?"
"Beca-Just do it!" I closed my eyes and willed myself to shrink, and suddenly everything was so much louder and more violent.
"Owowowowow!!!!!!" I hissed, covering my ears and opening my eyes, seeing that I had really shrunk as I fell over.
"Ty get her!" I felt Ty scoop me off the ground, right before a crack in the floor appeared where I had been.
"Alter, is there a passage that can get us out of here!?" I yelled, but my voice was basically useless in the rumbling of the earthquake. Fortunately, Ty heard me, and he repeated the question to AlterSorcerer, who nodded.
"Follow, quickly!" He called out. Ty slipped me in his pocket and ran after AlterSorcerer, Adam, to my dismay and confusion, running back the way we came from.
"Adam where are you going!?" Ty shouted, stumbling to the side to avoid a forming crevice.
"Someone has to get the others to safety!" He yelled back before disappearing past the wall, heading for the stairs. I whimpered and shrank back in the pocket as AlterSorcerer led us through a few hallways, moving some walls back for more hallways, and then I suddenly felt lightheaded. I sank down in the reassuring darkness and warmth of Ty's pocket...
... and fainted. -_-'
