An angel

Wings so white and heart so pure
I watched her and walked the floor
Her nerves were shot and she had no clue
I saw her eyes and knew what to do

Her life for mine just one simple task
I'd give it all to her and she wouldn't ask

Can she get back home
Are her wings broke for good
She'll never be alone
Finally I understood

I turn away at her final breath
True love touch beyond the touch of death
Blood spills to the floor
I sigh leaning back against the door

A gentle rap above my head
She's wearing white and a sash of gold
She holds me close we're together again
Thank you father and amen
