Josh stepped back and shivered. Who was this man? Whoever he was, he stood up and rubbed his head, the mask barely even budging.
Josh removed his hands from his pocket and kept them beside him, clenching his fists in case he needed to strike at the man. He turned his head towards Josh and tilted in back, drooping it lazily. Josh took a step back and fell flat on his bottom. He rubbed the back of his neck and got up slowly, the man still staring at him. "Who are you?" Josh asked, a slight hint of fear in his soft yet shaky voice.
The man shrugged and held his hands out. Josh glanced down at his hands. He saw it. Blood dripped from his slender hands and down to the ground below him.
Josh swallowed and stepped back again, his eyes shifting from the man's hands to his face. The man's hands, crimson red from the blood, clenched. Josh furrowed his eyebrows together as the man leaned over, his arms lazily falling beside him
. Josh squinted his eyes as the mask fell off the man and dropped on the ground.
Josh tried to get a look at the man's face in case he needed to report him later on, but the man just stood there, leaning over. Josh scratched his head. Maybe he should turn around?
He turned, looking up, and decided it would be best to forget about the whole thing. He felt something quickly grab his arm and pull him back, making him fall.

Josh inhaled sharply as the wind got knocked out of him, he couldn't move for a second as he lay on the pavement, staring at the sky.
He could only see the stars above him. He heard something beside him, faint but he knew it was there.
He tilted his head slightly in the direction he heard the noise and saw Tyler standing on his steps, the door open behind him.
He was leaning against the railing for support as his eyes flicked onto something in the other direction from where Josh lay. His eyes widened as he fell onto his knees, shaking.
Josh tried to sit up, his breathing uneven. He rubbed the back of his head and felt something along his finger. He moved his hand to his face and saw a trickle of blood. Great, he thought.
He moved his body to where Tyler was looking and saw... nothing.
When he went to look back at Tyler, he was gone. But... the door was still open.
Josh stood up, confused, and looked down at his feet. He suddenly heard something faint in the distance. Behind Tylers house. A scream? And it sounded exactly like Tyler.
Josh bit his lip and made his way around Tylers house, squinting his eyes in the dark.
He tried to make out what was in the yard in front of him but it was too dark. "Tyler? Tyler!?" He yelled, tripping over something. Probably a root.

Josh groaned, reaching into his pocket. His eyes shot opened as he remembered, he had a small flashlight on his key chain.
He searched around and pulled out the small handheld flashlight, turning it on and pointing it in front of him.
It didn't do much, but at least now he could see where he was going.
He heard a noise, not sure what it was, and spun around, pointing the flashlight at the tree trunk. He stopped moving and listened, hearing a breath.
A breath that was disturbingly close to his ear. He tensed up and slowly lifted the flashlight up beside him, pointing it to where he heard the breath.
At the corner of his eye, he could only see an outline of a person. He knew it was somebody but he didn't know who.
Suddenly, whoever it was, grabbed both of Josh's arms and threw him onto the tree, taking one of his hands and placing it over Josh's mouth so he wouldn't say anything.
Josh squirmed around, trying to get free. The person behind him breathed into Josh's ear and whispered faintly, "Josh. Shh... he could hear us. Don't move..." Josh knew, just by the softness of his voice that it was Tyler.
Well, at least he was safe. But who was "he?" Tyler removed his hand from Josh's mouth and moved it down to his hip, moving his head away from Josh's ear.
Josh furrowed his eyebrows together and tilted his head. "Who's he?" He whispered as quietly as he could.
Tyler gave Josh a look "The message man." Josh turned around, making Tylers grip release from him. Tyler spun his head around, petrified.
He looked everywhere at once. Josh took his arms and placed them on Tylers shoulders, making them face each other.
Tylers eyes were directed to Josh's as he slowly began to breathe normal again, Josh's touch calming him. Josh tilted his head, "Tyler, calm down. Just... stay close to me, okay? We'll be fine." Tyler slowly nodded and hugged Josh, tears coming to his eyes.
