Brushed the cobwebs off this, it's been sitting unedited in my collection for a while.

She leans over me, blonde hair cascading over her shoulders and onto my face. Laughing, I swipe at the intervening space between us. She pulls back, just out of reach of my playful gesture and giggles. The morning sun shines bright, spreading its warmth throughout and framing her in a soft glow.

She's so beautiful, I think to myself.

You're so beaufify, I stop myself, words catching in my throat. That wasn't as romantic as I had imagined.

What? She laughs.

She doesn't wait for my reply as she dives back down, tickling my sides.

My one true weakness.

I gasp for breath in between giggles and squirm out from under her. In one smooth motion I flip her around, gently setting her onto the grass as I straddle her waist, pinning her arms between my legs, preventing any further attacks.

No fair, she pouts.

All is fair in love and war, I counter.

She looks up at me with puppy dog eyes. My heart catches in my throat and that was all she needed to flip me off and re-establish dominance on top. I spit out tufts of grass and laugh, a deep happy laugh that reverberates through my bones. She laughs too.

No fair, I said.

All is fair in love and...Oomph.

I don't wait for her to finish, instead I reach around her head and pull her close, our lips connect. Her initial resistance melts away, washed aside, forgotten, as did the words on the tip of her tongue. We kiss and time stops. I trace every nuance of her with my tongue, marvelling at the fullness and softness of those strawberry lips. Eventually we both pull away, gasping. The need for air finally overcoming our passion. She gazes at me, face flushed. With our bodies pressed against each other, I can feel the frantic beating of her heart.

What's the matter, cat got your tongue? I tease.

She winks, last I checked, you were a boy.

Feisty.

With a tinkle of a laugh, she drops onto the grass beside me, pressed against my sides. We both stare up at the magnolia clouds, looking past them into the endless blue sky. I kiss the top of her forehead and rest my chin on her crown. Sighing contently, she closes her eyes as a warm breeze tickles our feet.

She laughs, tucking them under her body while snuggling even closer to me.
